Matt RMatt R: I've done a lot of work with these staples and an Arrow Electro-Matic ETF50PBN Electric Staple + Nail Gun, and most of that was many attempts at making seat cushions as part of a project to bring new life to a pair of chairs I'd gotten on the free stuff section of craigslist. The chairs were painted orange when I picked them up, and the cushions were split.
Some of these staples mushroomed (as seen in the first pic) because I didn't put even pressure on the staple gun. When I got used to the tool and more familiar with the upholstering process, I was way better off.
Note about DIY upholstery: If you don't consider imperfections and part of the charm, go to a professional. Seriously. I'm proud of my fourth attempt, but there are a lot of inconsistencies that would drive some people crazy.
Since I have so many staples left, I don't know that I'll ever have to buy more, but if I had to buy more, I'd buy these again.
