KelceyKelcey: "The Witch's Herbal Apothecary: Rituals & Recipes for a Year of Earth Magick and Sacred Medicine Making" by Marysia Miernowska truly shines as an ideal introduction to the world of witchy herbal magic. It's akin to flipping through a magazine, but instead of merely reading, you're immersing yourself in a realm of earthly enchantment. I enthusiastically rate it 5/5 because it excels at being a fantastic entry point into the world of witchy apothecary. The way it lays out rituals and recipes is exceptionally user-friendly, making it a perfect fit for beginners like myself. Miernowska's approach is not just informative but also down-to-earth, which effortlessly eases the learning process about sacred herbs and magick, making it feel like second nature. So, if you're curious about brewing potions, crafting rituals, or simply connecting with the natural world in a witchy way, this book is an absolute essential. It serves as a friendly guide for embarking on your magical journey, and I can't recommend it enough!

Karin Masden: This is a thorough and well-written guide that is easy to follow for newbies like me while still providing valuable resources (recipes and materia medica) for someone more seasoned. I love that it can be read and utilized from front to back, or a section at a time during the season the chapter is addressing. Many of us have become disconnected from the cycles of the moon and the earth and our own bodies with the hustle and bustle of modern living. This guide is perfect for rebuilding that connection. The author has a magical way of writing content that is approachable, which is something I haven't found in other resources - they are typically either too "beginners only" which can be disappointing for a more seasoned witch, or they are insultingly difficult to understand with an abundance of jargon that seems to be written more to impress as opposed to being absorbed and understood by the reader. Not so with The Witch's Herbal Apothecary. Reading this book feels like you are conversing with an old, wise and caring friend. I hope the author is able to offer more books in the future - I'm a fan!

gemmacarr: This book is beautifully laid out, deep enough to always learn something new when you dive in. You can read from start to end but I found it to be a useful book to have out all the time and to use as a wonderful tool through the seasons, nature and our life’s cycles.
Lots of yummy recipes, medicine making and grounding lessons.

Caroline Watson: I bought this book for the folk herbalism course I'm taking with the author, and it's such a gorgeous read! IT takes the reader through the "wheel of the year", identifying archetypes, nourishing practices, garden protocols, and delicious recipes to work with. Marysia's writing is deep and sweet and accessible; there is magic weaved into every page! A must have for any budding witches out there, who are looking to rediscover their inner wise woman :-)

V Reeves: The book is written beautifully, well divided into comprehensive chapters.
There are profiles for basic herbs for every herbalist and as a beginner Green Witch I found it very seductive. I only received it last week but already I have read through all the chapters (in order and dipping in for information) more than three times.
Fantastic book for anyone who wants to connect with nature, their surroundings and life in general.

StellaStella: I have been practicing herbal medicine and magic for 30+ years, but I still love a good book on the craft. Yes this is it. The Morning Elixirs are now part of my daily routine, I love the drawings and the sacred care that went into the writing of these words. A true witch wrote this book. It is a book defining our times of deep connection to the web of life though Seasonal ritual, plant spirit medicine, contemplation, medicine making, and self care. It now follows me to the bed, the bath, my garden, my studio...Every witch young and old should have it in their collection. Marysia is living her magic and I am so grateful that she can share it in such an accessible way. Thank you dear witch sister, you are such a gift.

Zoë: Whenever I can add to my Apothecary or my Apothecary Library, I'm a happy Mama. I am constantly seeking knowledge, in order to add to my skill set...especially when it comes to natural healing. ❤
Upon my initial skimming through, I can immediately say that I love the illustrations! However, it IS important to note, that the plants listed are black & white drawings, not color photos.
More importantly, it seems to be a nice combination of basics for folks new to their herbalist path (Latin name, family, properties, uses), while also including the energetics of each plant (which you don't tend to find from a standard herbalism source), & all of that while going over many plants that aren't as well-known to individuals new to herbalism.
This book combines a LOT of Spiritual connections to the plants, which I love. Lunar & Solar cycles are discussed, as well as breaking down the medicines you can make via each individual season of the year.
Plants are broken down by seasons, but here are the ones covered:
•Oat Straw
•Burdock
•Stinging Nettles
•Yerba...

Bodecoa: So far, I’m really loving it. I’m not very far into it yet, but I really like the way that this book is written and organized. There is a love for the plants that really shines through in the writing. She goes into the spiritual aspects of certain plants, as well as the medicinal or physical properties. I would not say this is a book of reference for a lot of herbs, but it is a really good book to learn how to make a connection to each plant and a good number of specific herbs. She also goes over harvesting and growing ethically and for the best health of the plant and garden/natural space.
I think this is a great book for expanding the relationship with plants around us
