Mic:
It's a pretty weak and average-tasting (if not below-average) English Breakfast tea. I've had cheap bagged teas better than this tbh.
I heard Harney and Son's was a good brand, and it seemed like a good price for the size, considering most Loose Leaf English Breakfast teas of of this size (1 lb) tend to cost $65-100+ CAD. I paid $40.
However, upon realizing that this is not made of the typical Ceylon/Assam blends, but a low grade generic black tea, I tried to cancel the order. If I wanted a 1lb bag of generic black tea, I could get some for half the price, but they wouldn't let me. Once it arrived, I could not return it, even though I hadn't even opened it, so I'm stuck with it now.
Since it's pretty weak, I'll probably get through the whole pound within a month or 2 anyways. Won't buy again.

mjk3310: The aroma of this tea is reminiscent of English pipe tobacco, I used to smoke in college, which smelled like a oak forest burning down. The tea leaves actually look like pipe tobacco! I am glad I was able to buy this at reasonable price as fancy blends offered elsewhere for smoked tea range in excess of $20. Pleasing for occasional use, to my tastes. If your tastes are for the bold, this is for you; if your taste are for Lipton, this is not for you!

Jaime Stoke Reed: My husband gave me a pretty white and purple tin of Paris tea a few years ago, and after the sachets were gone, I started buying bags of the loose leaf version. I love the unique scent and flavor. it is an Earl Grey base with a fruity black currant tone with a hint of vanilla. Not too much vanilla, though. I'm not a fan of the "cream" teas with heavy vanilla flavors. When an acquaintance asked about the flavor, I blurted out without thinking, "it tastes like it was brewed by fairies!" I do prefer it lightly sweetened to bring the flavors out.

Alisa: PEET'S Coffee used to sell this exact tea, rebranded as PEET'S 'Black Currant' tea. I was hooked for decades. The flavor is not sour. It's deep, rich like blackberry, raisin and honey. When PEET'S changed manufacturer, I was horrified. They'd swapped it for some tangy artificially flavored crap. I was unaware I could still get the original as H&S Paris tea. I was delighted to be reunited with it, when a friend served it and I instantly recognised my long lost tea. This is scrumptious with milk, because it is not tart. It tastes like something you've always craved. Pure bliss.

Lochlan Longstrider:
I just use a pinch of this for flavoring other black and green teas. Great when you are in a campfire/woodsy mood.
Also, I have found a use for it that is awesome. Put a pinch (just a few leaves) in a tea ball while rehydrating dried oyster mushrooms and you will impart the oyster mushrooms with a fantastic smoke flavor. A pinch of smoked salt (I use alderwood smoked, but only a pinch) will make the resulting broth taste like vegan smoked ham. Haven't tried with dried shitakes yet; however, that is next! Since you only use a little there is very little black tea flavor to encroach on the mushrooms. Great alternative for vegans looking for a burst of meaty smoked mushroom flavor for split pea, onion, roast garlic, carrot, and potato soup!

The smokey, richness of this tea is great for coffee lovers. It's not my favorite variety of this I've ever had, but it's good. I tasted pine more than smoke. That said I prefer this to having fake smoke flavor added at thr end.
I drank cups of this daily when it first arrived, but I haven't had more lately, and the reason why is that I developed a bladder irritation. I know that all black tea varieties can trigger this, but I think I read that Lapsong Soouhong may do so especially. Try t because, as I've said, its a perfect, rich dark tea with milk and a little sugar which is how i like it. Just don't over-do it. Green tea doesn't appear to have this issue.

Philip Choi: I am in my phase of London fogs and didn't want to pay 5 to 6 dollars for a drink at a Cafe. I initially bought the twinning earl grey tea bags which I was unable to make a good london fog no matter how many bags I used. I tried several brands and even some microgrounds before stumbling on this. Initially I thought this was really expensive. However I found that the flavor was very good and came out well. Only need to use 1 or 2 tsp. I think if you add a bit more lavender it will even taste even better.
