The 2 yr. copies everything he's brother does. He caught on really quick. Great activity for a plan trip or a raining day outside. I wouldn't take it outside because the wind might take it away, you will not have control once the wind has it. This was a perfect gift for them, and I purchased another one for my friend's 5 yr. too.

Sandi T: I love the ease of use. My grandkids love it - even the 16 month old knows to raise his hand to control it. We’ve purchased 3 and have only had trouble with one. They do whiz around fast!

Chris: DO NOT BUY. This is a cheap product and we all know that it is just for a few months of fun for our kids or pets. Their distributer knows this also and that the product is very poorly made and that you will never buy one again. So they make the return difficult, packing it in a box, printing labels incl the Lithium warning to convince you to swallow the money. We retuned it but you should not buy it. We rated it a 4 in the hopes people would read and avoid this company and their junk. When Amazon was a responsible company i.e., before the ivory league took it over they rejected these companies - this is why people long for the past. Good luck I am sure this review will be deleted as misinformation.

Alice: It has a high pitched sound, hard on the ears. Not ideal for indoors.

Lynda K: I was afraid this would be like "Calvin's beanie" long wait and then disappointment. Nice surprise. Had lot of fun with it on Christmas morning. Would buy again as it was a good value for the money. Cannot rate battery life as they haven't run out yet.

white-glider: Let me answer a few questions that I saw here. I hope this helps future buyers:
1) the battery lasts over 5 minutes when fully charged, which is enough for having fun with kids. I have two kids (8yo and 4yo) and they absolutely love this drone.
2) it takes around half hour to fully charge the battery (it uses a standard USB A port, power adapters also work). It consumes around 3W of power while charging, until fully charged (then it stops consuming any power).
3) it comes with a USB power cable. The end that connects to the USB port lights up (red light) when the drone is fully charged, which is counter intuitive, note that there is no visual signs until the drone is fully charged. The end that connects to the drone doesn't fully insert, which leaves customers wondering if it's really charging or properly connected.
4) you should calibrate the drone before using it, the process is REALLY simple, takes a few seconds, it doesn't need anything other than the drone itself, and it's explained in the manual.
5) there are at least 3 sensors: one on one side of the drone, another on the opposite side, one at the bottom. I'm not sure there is a 4th sensor...

Andy: I bought this for my 4 year old, figuring he'd play with it also with my almost 6 year old. Neither of them is particularly good with video game or RC style controllers yet so this seemed like a good solution to still have fun with a "drone".
Charging is easy - it has a USB with a charging light and a tiny barrel connector on the other end. When the light goes out, the drone is fully charged and ready to go. This seems to take around 30 minutes plus or minus. The drone itself has a center light that doubles as a status indicator. Flashing red and green means it's calibrating itself. Solid green means ready to fly. Blinking red means it needs to charge. The unit itself is fairly small, maybe the size of a DVD and a few inches thick. The entire thing is caged so it's safe to hold and be near when flying - it's not going to nick anybody and you can't easily get your fingers in a prop (even if they're little fingers). It's surprisingly lightweight and feels a bit delicate but not flimsy.
The actual flying is super easy. You really can just drop or toss it and it'll right itself and start hovering. My 4 year old had no problem getting it started. The drone seems to rotate...

susan close: The casing is quite flimsy; disappointing that a portion of the casing broke soon into its use. The kids have been very careful with it; no rough handling. The kids love the drone and it is easy for a seven year old to manage. Needs to be stronger

Dionysios: This scoot Xl flys most of the time high up on the ceiling, works for a bit after calibrating about a minute or 2 then goes crazy again till you calibrate, battery life seem to be getting shorter after the 3rd charge, it could be just mine, overall I think its a bit to expensive for the way it works, you spend more time trying to calibrate rather than use the product.

K. Jones: This drone, when it does turn on, hovers and that is about it. Waste of money.
