Pamela Raymer: I only use this as a pass through swab. I wrap my silk scarf around the long piece and pass it through the tubing of the flute. Works nicely. *Bonus*..... With the foam tip I wrap the scarf around that and it's perfect for cleaning out the head. It gets all the moisture out up close to the cork area and the all around too. I do not leave this inside my flute.

Richard Piercy: The purchase of this product on Amazon caused me to "accidently" sign up for Amazon Prime AGAIN and me to cancel it YET AGAIN. I deleted all the other products that I had in the basket that I could get elswhere but failed in the short term to find alternative supplier for the product so kept it (it was priced with postage included anyway).
I have now resolved to look for all future requirements from other than Amazon until they stop the disgusting habit of duping people into signing up to Prime.

Heather Rice: I'm in marching band, and I noticed how my pads would get dirty, and sticky, and just plain nasty, so I bought a cleaner. I thought it would work, since it was fluffy, but in return, it gave me saliva stuck fibers, and it wouldn't come out. Not even when I put it in the dishwasher. So, I turned to the more expensive option. This product. I was hesitant buying it, because of my past experiences with flute pad savers, but all my friends said they were perfect, so I gave it a shot. Boy, am I glad I listened. I love this product! it Absorbs saliva, takes away the nasties and stickiness my pads were getting from my left in saliva, and just overall helped me care for my flute. It hasn't broken, and is easy to wash (just throw it in the dishwasher). It remains fluffy, and soft, and is just overall and amazing investment. Now that I haveone, I feel like I got a deal for how good this product is. I would recommend it to any flute player. It is a must have! (especially for those who play everyday.)

W. T.: It fits my alto sax perfectly. I have heard differing points of view about these and the conclusion I have come to is - clean your sax after every use, including the mouth piece. Tip out the excess moisture, use the Pull-Through then place the Pad Saver inside. It is not meant to clean the sax. That's my understanding after much research. I decided to buy this after a professional player, who also repairs saxophones, recommended them. You can leave it in after cleaning or not. As a beginner, I decided to develop the good habit of caring for my instrument after each use.

I'll leave the debate to roll on as I'm sure it will. This method is the one I've decided to adopt. I'll clean and then leave this inside.

Ajarndontree: Excellent quality. I went into a local music store looking to replace my old saxophone pad saver that I've had for several years. I found the quality of the Rico pad savers that my local music store sells to be unacceptable. They are thin and no where near the quality they used to be. They are cutting corners to make them cheap and it shows. I am glad I found the pad saver made by H. W. After opening the package I see that you get what you pay for. It is full and the material the swab fibers are made from is much better. It is more expensive than the Rico but well worth it because in the long run this product will last longer and save money on pad replacements.
