Michael Hinson: I was looking for something to just hold the corners until I could get my band strap around them to hold the boards in place. I use primarily 20mm wood. These are hard to open that far and apply: I hope with practice, it will get easier. They are super strong and I need to remove the rubber protectors to get the wood in place. Jamazon: I just received my two sets of these. I used them to build 4, three cube shelving units. You know, these clamps did not keep sides and shelves perfectly square, nor keep ends flush, and sometimes slipped off my line markers.... BUT.... they acted like a great set of extra hands, and helped me get the job done quicker. Though what I just said, they do hold tight enough, long enough, to stay square, flush, all without an extra person, or a grip of steel, so that I can just get that first screw in so that makes a huge help in getting the rest of the boards together. It does help you work better and quicker, if you're doing it by yourself. I can still see those large expensive clamps working even better. But at this price, they still were very helpful. Love an inexpensive tool that gives more than it's cost.

T-Bone85: As a wood worker for 30+ years it is always nice to have a "new" tool to help with assembly of projects.
I ordered these thinking they would help with assemble wood frames together while gluing up.
They took forever to come in, however they were shipped in a very nice box, as if someone was trying to impress the consumer.

What is the first thing you do when you open it? See how it works - well I am an "older" person - I can still take a jar top off with a good bit of effort - but compressing these clamps- gooooood luck.

the opening is small too. I am betting you cannot open it past 1 1/2" and to get it close to that you would have to place this clamp IN A vise to open the jaws to get to that width.

The thinking behind this is brilliant - the application is not.

Imagine you have all four pieces of your frame ready to glue/pin together, how can you hold one piece in this clamp and then allow the other to come in? You cannot - the reason is the jaw will allow a bit of slop in either direction as if to self center the 90 degrees if this makes sense. So once the first piece is in - the second piece cannot fit, and if you have to have BOTH pieces placed...
