Steven E.: Bought a Frigidaire FHPC102AC1 during the summer, and installed it in the back room. The manufacturer supplied window setup is absolute trash, thin foam that isn't very long and the tabs that hold the hose in are prone to failure.

Bought this to replace that, not only is this thing sturdy, the supplied seal and window seal foam actually is the size of my vertical apartment window and I can remove it and place it back if needed with no real issues. Buy this if you're wanting a little upgrade to the $350 machine you just bought that the manufacturer skimped on.

Fácil de instalar. Sostiene bien el tubo y se adapta muy bien a la ventana.
Lo uso ocasionalmente en varias ventanas de la casa, por lo que he optado por no ponerle aislante, ya que la presión del marco es suficiente para sostenerlo.

DynamoDynamo: I had read previous reviews and agree that the written instructions aren't great. I watched the instructional video provided on the products page here on Amazon. I took screen shots of all the nuances and it worked well. The mistake I made, is it was too long and I didn't consider measuring the length of the window before I ordered. But, we were able to cut it down to make it fit. Also, another tip for fitting the hose into this adaptor (I read reviews where it didn't fit) and here is what we did: we used a wire cutter and snapped the first wire on the hose so that it would collapse and we could then mold it to fit into the hole provided. We also used duct tape to seal both ends of the hose into the AC unit and this adaptor piece. Honestly, I cannot imagine one would ever fit perfectly without some sort of rigging (we used silver duct tape for the security but will cover it up with white tape for aesthetics. Its in our bedroom so its not like people will see it, but for those who keep it in a more public place in their home should consider this option). Also, keep in mind that the hose has some weight on it and this duct tape not only seals the hose into the adaptor and AC unit...

fizzyquake: Before you order this, MEASURE the width of your current hose (doesn't come with the kit) and the height of your window and make sure this is the kit for you. The one that came with my original air conditioner was too tall for my window and only using 2 panels let a lot of heat back into the room. I thought my actual air conditioner was the issue, but it was the window kit that was the problem. This kit came with weather stripping, to help block out any heat. This is my first portable air conditioner, so I wasn't aware of other things I could do to help with the heat issue escaping back in to the room. While researching a new air conditioner to replace my current one, I learned a lot from reading the reviews. One was using weather stripping to stop the leaks. I had been using duct tape to try and hold it in the window (the original window kit was very flimsy, so had to tape it to the window so it would stay in one spot.) The duct tape took the paint off of my actual window, so I don't advise using that. The next thing I found was to wrap the duct with a special tape that holds in heat, up to 212 degrees. After I wrapped the duct with that tape, I put a towel around the duct, right...

Emily: I used this to thread my 2016 Mitsubishi i-MIEV electric vehicle charging cord through to an interior outlet. It reduces air transfer from outside. For extra insulation, I stuff some AmazonBasics microfiber cloths around and in any exposed areas where air is seeping in. I do not want any electrical issues. I just pull my car in extremely close to my home, thread in the cord through this vent kit, plug it in an interior outlet and I'm good. This product works extremely well for my needs. It was really easy to install. It secured in place nicely. I did not have any worry that it was going to break under pressure, have my window slam shut and subsequently a crunched cord. This is a good product. I highly recommend it.
