RICHARD C: As a kid in 1958, I had only the Mel Bay guitar books to guide me. So I learned to note read in the first keyboard position and next started on making my 12 poor copies of Chet Atkins best hits. In the years to follow I learned the keyboard and some chord theory, so already know about 30% of what is in this fine book. It is a priceless find for wannabes like me who never took the time to learn about music but now want to more efficiently copy another 6 Chet Atkins recordings in the next 10 years, even though I could not figure out what keys he was playing in and what those lovely chords were. The book's author is a very good teacher, an adult with no axes to grind. If I was not 81, I would continue with being a serious musician after reading his work.

R. Lodovici: Book gets really complicated and focuses much on electric guitar. However, one can learn a lot if you can handle technical knowledge.

What is wrong with the printers and what kind of shady business are they running? Ruined a completely stunning book. I already own a kindle edition of this book; because it was so very good, I bought the hard copy. To discover this atrocity.
