AmazonCustomerAmazonCustomer: We purchased these last summer for use in our raised garden beds to support our eggplant, pepper, and cucumber plants. I loved these cages at first, but have been very disappointed with their durability… PROS: These were easy to install and initially provided good structure for our veggie plants. I loved the flexibility of “building” the cages around established plants too— I was able to support my peonies after the plants began growing / before the flowers weighed the plant down by building the cage around it. However, we have found several significant CONS as well: This summer (the second year of using the cages) approximately half of the cages have broken under the weight of my vegetable plants... specifically the vertical poles have snapped and cannot be repaired. While the concept of the cages is excellent, I do not recommend purchase given these problems with durability.

yuan: The sticks’ sizes are larger than the connectors’ size! I had a hard time assemble them together, some not at all. I wonder if they sent me the wrong sizes. Now some of the connectors are already broken because the sticks cannot be inserted into the connectors at the right depth! I wish I could get my money back.

MDSMDS: Plastic-coated metal spikes are easy to push or hammer into the ground. The connectors, however, don't always fit, and if you force two sections together, the connector will split (see photo.) You don't get extra connectors. And when they are connected successfully, they aren't coming undone. You won't be disassembling the vertical sections come fall.

The horizontal sections seem sturdy. We'll see how they fare over a summer of rain, heat, and UV rays.

If you're using these with fabric patio containers, they will barely fit in a 5 gal. bag. Next year I'll be using 7.5-10 gal. bags and I would recommend those for use with these trellis'. They're pretty big.

They come with small zip ties that I use to train my cucumbers and support the tomatoes.

The cool thing is you can make whatever you want with these, like tinkertoys. You can make your setup as big or as tall as you want. A three-sided, four-sided, or five-sided cage. Make a big, flat trellis. If you have the space, go nuts!

Maralie S Medlin: Bought these for trellising pea plants, and I think they worked pretty good for that. I would NOT use them for heavier veggies (or fruits, if you're that guy) like tomatoes because they're not that sturdy. Quick and easy to assemble with options for making them as short/tall as you want. I even used a single piece once or twice to stake a top-heavy flower. Would buy again for light-weight staking; would never use for big or heavy plants.

DuckDuck: I needed a small trellis for the inside of my greenhouse. Being adjustable was ideal because of limited space and not sure how the vines would grow. Ordered the 3 pack to try out. Being adjustable and plastic, wasn't sure how sturdy this was going to be. When they arrived I quickly tried them out and wow, to my surprise they were very sturdy, easy to snap together and adjust to your needs. I added more height and length as the vines grew into them. I didn't use the tie wraps since it was sturdy enough and you would have to cut them off if you want to make any adjustments. I do wish the set would have more crossbars and less stakes. Used up all the crossbars and still have 6 stakes. I felt like a little kid with a leggo set optimizing his trellis. Lots of fun. Being plastic, it won't rot and you can dissassemble and reuse over and over again. Ordered the 6 pack for future use. That order got delayed twice and had to confirm whether I still want the order. Answer is yes of course! Must be in high demand. It makes gardening more fun!
