It meets you where ever you are in this long journey, and points you to our God, who is well acquainted with grief. Even when the tears still rise up, there is abundant hope. I highly recommend this book.

Eric Swecker: Mr Roe has written a wonderful blueprint for healthy grieving. Of course, the message is all about cultivating a deeper relationship with God.
He walks his readers through concepts to help with grieving, and healthy , faith-inspired healing, recovery and personal growth. Roe points out that we can emerge from struggles suffering and hardship, and become deeper, richer, and more loving human beings.
He adds credibility by steering clear of any discussion as to whether the grieving person will have a better LIFE after such a traumatic loss. Most of us who have lost a spouse know instinctively that our best days are behind us. He avoids insulting his readership by sidestepping that topic all together. Yes, we can rebuild our lives, and that will have to be enough. He does not sell the fantasy of a rebuilt life that will be "better than ever", but he does point out that joy is out there for those who can move past devastating losses. I recommend!

LavenderStar: Bought for my husband who has been struggling for a year following the death of his dad. It is really helping him to finally face the awful grief and loss and start to release it and walk through it with Jesus.
The fact that this has very short bitesize chapters makes it very manageable and stops it being overwhelming.
Highly recommend! I will buy this again for whoever needs it.

On my cloudier days I cannot even see the rainbow; I can barely see through my rains of tears. It’s so bitter sweet, because although I’d give my legs to have my son back (not my arms, because I need them to hold him), I’m thankful he’s not suffering in this world anymore.
