RT2016: My original backup camera mount broke. This mount is 'fat' enough so I could actually sit the viewing device on it. A bargain price for fixing an annoying problem -- I was thinking about recycling the camera because it's useless without a mount -- not safe to hold it with one had and backup with the other. There are millions of mounts available -- I needed one that could hold a bulk gadget. You could also tilt it slightly, giving you a tiny bit more visibility when driving.

Jeffrey: It has been almost a month, I made the right choice, it folds flat and not intrusive when not in use.
I did not want to deal with windshield mounting again as it was obtrusive.
Box says it comes with an extra pad, I did not have an extra pad in my box.

B. W. GoffB. W. Goff: I got tired of suction cup mounting on glass windows. I also updated my GPS. Summers in South Carolina get hot, so I decided to use the suction cup and tape mounting. I parked the SUV under a shade tree, and used a windshield cover to allow the case to set. The next day, I went for an outing and the GPS is a solid fit. When the GPS is removed, the case is not obtrusive in appearance. I"m quite satisfied with this purchase.
