GoSports Street Hockey Goal Set with Sticks and 2-Pack Street Hockey Sticks

BES: A stick and a piece of plastic. Two screws. For practice by a beginner, fine. I purchased this to help my 7 year old aspiring ice hockey player to learn passing when we are home. Not at all durable and don't expect these to last long. I caught an almost 50% off making these okay for a learning exercise, but better quality ones are needed for actual street hockey.

Jolene: We only had ONE roller hockey ball in our house and both kids wanted to play with it at the same time. We now have 7 and there are no fights. They are hard and will hurt when hit, but as expected. The color is great and can be seen easily.

I thought I’d give these a whirl despite a few reviews that said they broke. Should have listened. 20 minutes of play and wood stick snapped in half. Disappointing

JPSIII: I can get burned out buying stuff online and when it arrives I need to figure out how to put it together based upon a bunch of terrible, made in Asia drawings. I never write reviews but I can't help myself on this one because I just finished assembling it and it was wonderful. Disclaimer - my 6 year old grandson has not even hit a ball into the net yet so this is a grandpa review of an assembly that took maybe 15 minutes. The instructions are simply excellent. Written in English by as writer who I bet has English as a first language. They are clear and supported as necessary with pictures. The stuff seems well made. Sticks are sturdy wood and the paddles very durable plastic that secure to the wood with 2 screws that even an assembly moron such as myself can figure out. And - get this - only 4 screws are needed and they included 6 in the kit! Truly this product is moron-proof. We're off to celebrate the birthday and Mother's day. He is getting pads and skates from other relatives so should the performance of the net/sticks be anything other than stellar, I'll update this review.
EDIT: Product may not be made in USA, but still of very high quality. Maybe made in Canada, eh?

Michael S Hong: I bought this for my 5 year old twins (boy, girl). The shafts were easy to saw down to size and pilot holes were already drilled for attaching the blades with a #2 Phillips head screwdriver. Takes a little while to get a good curve to stay on the blade but I was a little rushed. When I was a kid we would heat up the blade over a hot stove burner and then bend it, holding it in place for as long as we could while it cooled. This time I had the kids running around my legs wanting to watch. I didn't want to show them that way so I just used hot tap water.

So far I haven't put the net together. This is the first time the twins have used hockey sticks so we just took the included balls out and I taught them a little stick handling and passing. I'm guessing the net will be fine for beginners to practice or one-on-one, but when they start taking slap shots it will need to be replaced by a bigger and heavier net. I do like that it folds up flat for storage. Hopefully it's as good as advertised. I'll update in the future if there are any problems with assembly or the finished net.
