Gonex Ultralight Handy Backpack for Travelers

persephone: I am generally suspicious of cheaper products like this, but I did not want to spend the money on the better rated backpacks considering I only use this occasionally. I have to say I’m happy with this purchase. This backpack is comfortable, lightweight, balanced, and a good design. Other reviewers have said it is not waterproof but I don’t intend to be walking in the rain with it so that didn’t matter to me. The clamshell design makes for easy access to contents. it only has one smaller inside pocket but that’s all I need anyway. It is exactly what I needed for less than 20 bucks. The stitching is not that great , but if anything comes loose, it looks like it will be easy to mend.

MELONIE FAVOITE: Needed an extra backpack while on a trip to South Africa. This did the trick. I used it for light weight jackets , my camera etc. Best part it folds away until you need it. Great price and weights practically nothing. Will be buying anyone.

XR: I just returned from traveling with this backpack, and I am impressed. Initially, I test-drove and doubted its capacity to carry a day's worth of technology: laptop, accessories bag, travel charger, mobile, sunblock, water bottle, first aid kit, and extra layers with the possibility of adding acquired items throughout the day, (snacks, purchases.) It did not feel like it would take.

Unfortunately, my backup was not delivered in time, and I went for it. Well.. it was a most supportive companion. Grocery shopping, work bag, day bag, hiking bag, and personal bag for air travel.. it held up.
A downside is its need for more structure regarding packed contents. On the flip side, it allows it to be filled with little real estate and transforms into a good carrying option.

I can't speak to capacity with rain; I travel with a rain cover/umbrella. On the other hand, it dries fast post-washing.

Cindy: This is a keeper! The straps are comfortable and curved so they don't cut into your shoulders. The outer pouch becomes an inside pocket and does not detach so it is always there........very clever! It easily goes back into the pouch.

Rubbubble: This bag is well made, stitching and zippers don't seem like they will fall apart without a decent amount of abuse. The dimensions stated on the listing are a bit optimistic though. If you NEED the stated size, it but be worth opting for the larger version instead. This is still big enough for my needs though, it just looks like I'm wearing a kids bag when I'm using it :)

Sandy Barker: Lightweight, but sturdy. Love this backpack. Have used it on hikes and for getting about and it holds up well for the lightness of the fabric.
