J Edgar: This one was purchased for a sturdy 8 month old to ride in a trailer. I've purchased the same model before and the helmet has held up well. Parents are careful not to give as the kids as a toy so they don't drop or otherwise compromise its safety. Easily takes older infants through the toddler stage, so they can wear while on self-propelled riding toys. Helmet has easy to adjust headband so after putting it on it can be snugged up. They have a wide flange on the inside of the buckle to minimize chances of pinching sensitive skin when connecting the straps.

cc: Great lightweight helmet for my 11 month old son! I originally purchased a bell bike helmet that was too big and did not adjust , so I read up on several adjustable bike helmets and ultimately decided on this one. So far I am very happy with the helmet. My son is in the 40-50th percentile range for head size (~18 inches) and the XS still has some room for him to grow. The dial in the back is very easy to adjust, even when my son is wearing it. The helmet is also very light and doesn't hinder his ability to romp around at all. The only issue I have with it is the chin straps are very long and really annoyed him. Based on another reviewer's suggestion, I pried out the black plug in the back with a flat head screwdriver and was able to even out the straps so they don't bother him quite as much. Overall, I am very happy with this puchase and would only knock my rating down to 4.5 stars based on the straps, but since I found out you can adjust them somewhat I am giving 5 stars.
