Sneaky Burrito: I actually use these on a cat, but I suspect they would have the same effect on a person since the mammalian eye in this instance is going to have a lot of the same or similar features.
This particular brand was recommended by my veterinary ophthalmologist. My cat has glaucoma, cataracts, eye herpes, uveitis, eye ulcers, corneal sequestrum (a group of dead cells in the eye that are slowly being sloughed off, this problem is particular to cats), and corneal bullae (white spots/swellings on the surface of the cornea). Basically every eye problem a cat can have, he did. He also has inflammatory bowel disease and is on prednisolone (has been for four years), which slows healing of the eye but which he cannot go off. He actually had to go to the emergency vet in July because his eye was bleeding.
So anyway, he was in a really bad situation. He has been seeing the veterinary ophthalmologist every couple of weeks since his emergency vet visit. He is on some eye drops she prescribed (an antibiotic, a drug that promotes eye wound healing, and anti-glaucoma drops -- dorzolamide).
