Lwh: It is one of the cheapest options in market so i gave it a try. It works well and gets the job done although it is my first time ever using oscillating tool so cant compare with other high end brand. I felt heavy and it vibrates A lot and lock in mechanism seems to be flimsy

Joe Ganch: While I have only used this for about ten minutes, I am absolutely delighted with this tool. It is the lowest priced version and with Amazon's generous return policy I thought I'd give it a try. This tool so far has just buzzed through construction lumber and of course drywall. I just love being able to plunge cut and spent a life regretting no one had invented something like this. Regardless of what model or make you get, do add one to your kit. It is so handy you'll wonder how you did without it.

Ryan Justin: This tool has served me well for the last few years with occasional use. I purchased this for much cheaper than other similar tools from other big brands as I did not plan on using it a whole lot.

I have since then purchased a different model for the convenience of it being cordless, but still use this on occasion as it does deliver a good amount of power.

Three stars for two reasons:

1) At startup and when first making a cut this tool shakes more than other models making it difficult to make a straight flush cut. With a steady hand and scoring surfaces before cutting with this tool this can be dealt with.

2) The blade holder on this tool has very shallow retention pins which would tend to cause the blades to come loose during use.

Still, I think this was a great purchase as I don’t think you can find something similar at this price. These are very versatile tools that are able to make cuts no other powered saw can.

Book LoverBook Lover: I've had this tool for a week and have used it on two pretty big projects already, so I think I'm ready to review it.
I was working on trying to redo the caulk in a large walk-in tiled shower and had spent days trying to scrape off old caulk, but there were three pretty large sections I could not get off no matter what I tried; goo gone, 6 in one scraper and my Dremel (another favorite tool!) With brush attachments on it and nothing would remove the caulk. I broke down and bought this (I really hate how projects balloon into needing something else to get it done) because it was inexpensive and came with a scraper blade. Bingo! This saw did the trick. In 15 minutes it removed what days of elbow grease and other tools couldn't. I was madly in love immediately. ;)
Then yesterday, I'm standing in my kitchen, minding my own business, and hear my lazy Susan drop inside the corner cabinet... Ugh. Another project. I spent hours getting everything back to where it would rotate, but no adjustment I made would stop the corner door from hitting the frame (this is a rev-a-shelf lazy susan) so I quit for the day to plan my next move. Mr. James: For a while now I have been wondering if I would use a tool of this sort enough to justify the cost of buying one. I finally decided to bite the bullet and put one of these in my home workshop. I couldn't justify paying a lot maybe for a top brand but after reading a lot of reviews on here, I decided to go with the Genesis GMT 15A Multi-Purpose Oscillating Tool and after a couple of uses, I am happy with this tool. It probably paid for itself with my first project of replacing an old rotted out window sill. Worked like a charm. As a first time user, there was a bit of a learning curve but once I got the hang of it, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. It did tend to heat up a bit but part of that was on me. Once I stopped forcing it and just let the blade do the cutting things went more smoothly. I will say that when I was using a wood blade, I ran into a nail that I was unaware of. Yeah don't do that cause it will destroy that blade in a second. So be careful with that. There is a metal blade that comes with it and it performed well for small stuff like nails. Amazon Customer: So far, I've only used the saw blade and scraper blade.

With a saw blade, this tool is very good for making precise cuts and for blind cutting. While it doesn't cut as fast as a circular or reciprocating saw, it is far more controllable. It can fit in tight spaces and is unlikely to cut anything you don't want cut. Unlike a reciprocating saw, it can cut without a starter hole and without starting at an edge.

The scraper blade works well for cutting various materials, including carpet and carpet foam. I haven't yet used it as intended.

I purchased this tool in late October 2011, and it came with an accessory adapter, which isn't mentioned in the product description. According to the manual, this adapter "allows the tool to be used with accessories for Fein, Bosch, Rockwell, and Dremel" tools. I also purchased "Versa-Tool MB3B" blades,  Versa-Tool MB3B 1-3/8-Inch Bi-Metal Universal Oscillating Saw Blade, 3 Pack  They fit without the adapter (note, they look like txmom1's picture, rather than like the amazon pic).
