Ami Panda: I love the show.and so when I found out there were comics I was excited. Also I use kindle that is much easier and quicker.the comics deliver on quality by deliver I mean the transition in the book is so smooth. There are new and old characters (like Mr.befiong.)

Cool-Lion14: I liked how the Avatar: The Last Airbender saga continues with a welcome return for our favorite young earthbender. She gets a chance to shine again after being absent in the previous story arc. She's in for a major surprise here (which shall remain nameless so as not to spoil anything). But read it, and you'll enjoy it, especially if you're a Toph nut.

MF: I have found almost every Avatar Last Airbender book to be great quality and this one is the same. Love the continuation of series from TV to book, and I love how you can see the characters are still growing from book to book. Don't want to spoil the storyline of "They Rift" for people, but I like how this book is closing off some unanswered questions from the TV series

Denise Figueroa: After reading the disappointing "The Promise" and the less disappointing "The Search", the Rift seems to be picking up the pace in the Avatar Timeline. I'll admit that I'm very curious to see where this mini series is heading. With indications that it will really start to merge the era of ATLAB with The Legend of Korra timeline, as well as more focus on Toph, this first volum is definitely getting me more hyped then the first parts of the other 2 series.

The art is getting another slight boost in quality. (and it was pretty good before!) You can tell the artist are getting really comfortable with the characters and are doing something really right in their "aging" of them. You can tell from the first part of "The Promise" and the latest volume that Aang is aging but is such a lovely, subtle way that isn't limited to just his height. There are slight changes in facial features and the same is true about Toph. Being the youngest characters in series, I'm delighted how you can really tell the difference.

Anyways, I'm really hoping this series will give me the "wow" factor I felt was lacking in the other two.
"The Search" was superior to "the Promise" and gave off a...

T. M. Stamler: Anyone who was disappointed that Toph was absent from 'The Search' trilogy can rest assured that we're getting a major dose of her in 'The Rift'. (Although Zuko fans may be disappointed that he will probably not appear.)

It's old versus new in this most recent addition to the 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' series, as Toph's attempts to keep moving forward with her life are at odds with Aang's to embrace his past. Things only get more frustrating for both of them when they discover a joint Earth-Fire refinery at work on land that was once sacred to the Air Nomads. Drama, cliffhangers, and possibly spirit attacks ensue.

Like 'The Promise' and "The Search' before it, the story for 'The Rift' is pretty solid, and I love how writer Gene Yang manages to come up with real, difficult and downright BIG problems for the GAang, not just your typical one-episode-and-it's-done dilemmas, which makes sense given the Avatar's duties to the world. You're not quite sure what the best solution is yourself, and you're not quite sure where it's going, which makes for a rich and thought-provoking read.

The characters are well done, too. One of the problems I've had with the new...

Annie: So we're now in one of those silent times between seasons of the Legend of Korra and I need my Avatar fix!

Good thing The Rift Part One came out.

Let me start by saying, no Zuko is not in this one. The cover doesn't include him and the first dialogue is pretty much saying that he is not going to make an appearance. Even though I'm a major Zuko fan, I understand considering The Search focused on him and his relationships. But, that doesn't mean it can't still be an excellent story!

A lot of this story seems to focus on the fact that Toph and Aang are foils to each other. Since Toph is generally more vocal, Aang is accompanied by three air acolytes so he can throw passive aggressive jabs at her and say he's teaching his students... this in unlike Toph who outright calls Aang's ideas foolish. Depending on how and where you were raised, you can feel either side is more right. However, both of them have solid reasons as to why they feel the way they do.

The conflict and tension between these two characters continues to rise throughout the story. I almost feel it's a conflict that was bound to happen. Even in flash backs with Toph and Aang during the Legend...
