GCI Outdoor SitBacker Canoe Seat - Adjustable for Comfort and Support

Roeeglict: this is a very handy seat. easy to use and attach to any bench seat. i have a back injury so support and leaning against a supportive back rest is essential to me. the only thing that can be improved on that i can see is the seat...it needs more padding. it became very uncomfortable to sit for long periods of time. if it was more cushy on the seat section, i would have given this a top rating. glad i bought it however and would recommend it.

Kat: This seat was nice and comfortable while it remained in tact but within the first 3 hours of my first day on the river the plactic parts of the joint cracked completely in half, so the only thing holding the seat at a 90 were the fabric straps. At this point the seat only served as a seat cusion really, providing no back support which was sad considering I had at least 12 hours or river ahead of me. I suppose I should also note that I'm a heathy weight, so I can't imagine I was putting the seat through any undue strain.

John R: I am a frequent canoer who takes multi-day trips where a back rest is mandatory if I plan on moving the next day. I have had several cheapo chairs from wallyworld and decided it was time for an upgrade. I researched and thought this product would fit my needs: comfortable with straps to secure to the canoe seat. I float scenic rivers and take time to sit back and enjoy the beauty of nature. Half way through the first day of leaning back, this chair began to split apart between the two cushions. Due to the nature of its construction, when the seat split it allows the straps securing the back rest to splay further reducing back support. It just pealed apart and I had a painful trip hunched over attempting to sit upright.

Do not buy this chair. It will fail due to poor design leaving you with a separated seat that you can't sit on and no back rest. It is a piece of garbage. I threw it away the moment I got off the river.

Do not buy!!!

Tales From Our Pocket: A group of 8 of us went on a canoe long weekend trip and we were the envy of the rest, with our fancy canoe seats. They even threatened to steal / hide them overnight, such was their jealousy. :D

The chairs fit perfectly on the standard-sized canoe - it was maybe a smidge tight widthwise on the back seat, but it DID fit and had no problem attaching to the canoe. Not only were these comfortable, but they actually helped my paddle be stronger when I needed it to be, by providing leverage against my back (so I could push and dig deeper). I loved that they could be loosened so I could recline while waiting for other canoes to catch up to us. We also found the portage lock strap invaluable.

Very highly recommended!

Martin M.: I bought two of these, one for me and one for my son. Before I could use mine I gave it to my son whose had already broken. (straps). Two weeks later it broke in the same spot. Sitbacker???? Don't sit back.
