Kindle Customer: Got for my GPS, which is kind of large. Finding a mount that works is kind of hard but this one works very well. Still have a little bit of an issue with the GPS sliding across the dash on sharp turns or moving all over the dash when on the interstate, resolved this with a very small piece of Velcro.

Mr. Grouchy: Basically a sandbag with a tacky bottom and Garmin socket on the top .
Gravity hasn't failed yet. Inertia has beaten it a couple of times though.
Exactly what I was looking for.

If you are one of the ones that like yours to be adjustable and that comes out over the dash then this is not for you, however, it does adjust up and down and side to side.

Howard: This is my second purchase of this mount. It works if you can avoid sharp turns and stops, but don’t expect miraculous sticking power if you do. It is better than most mounts of this design, but it’s still prone to some slippage under emergency conditions — just like all others.

Mr. Ian W. Williams: I was tired of my Garmin GPS unit falling off my windscreen at inopportune times.
This friction-mount unit is much better than the suction-grip system supplied with the GPS unit.
The friction-mount sits firmly on my dashboard, doesn't move around and is a very stable support for the GPS unit.
Plus, if you are getting your vehicle serviced or in a theft-prone area, it makes things easy to remove or hide the GPS unit from sight.

Nic: Die Halterung passt wie beschrieben zu meinem Garmin Drive Smart 55. Entgegen meiner Befürchtungen bleibt die Halterung auf dem Armaturenbrett, und zwar genau dort, wo ich es hinlege. Auch bei schlechten Straßenverhältnissen und scharfen Kurven.
Wirklich toll finde ich diese Lösung, weil ich mein Navi in Reichweite habe. Ganz im Gegensatz zu den herkömmlichen, mit Saugfuß an der Scheibe zu befestigenden Halterungen. Außerdem bleibt man flexibel. Da die Halterung wirklich nur aufliegt ( keine Ahnung, wieso sie sich absolut nicht bewegt), hat man das Navi mit nur einem Handgriff von links nach rechts oder von vorne nach hinten bewegt.
Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Jonathan E.: I am using this mount with a Nuvi 855.
Overall I think it is fantastic. I have used a friends car often in which there is a GPS (TomTom) stuck with a suction cup to the circular disc mounted to the dash. I found her GPS would often fall off when I was touching the screen. I would resort to taking it off and fiddling with it on my lap whilst drive. Not such a safe way to go. Also, with that kind of mount it was not easy for the passenger (my beloved co-pilot) to access the GPS or move it around or take it into her hands for full control (an important manoeuvre for full co-piloting).

It was because of the experience with my friends mount that I bought this one at the same time as my Nuvi 855. I am very happy with this mount.

PROS - Things I really like about it:
- It is SUPER grippy. It has an incredible surface on the underside which makes it not slide at all. Even if I try to nudge it 8as a test), it is hard to move it. Excellent. There is certainly NO movement whilst driving, even when I am driving fast into a tight bend. And yet, if I want to reposition it, or my passenger/co-pilot wants to change the position, it's so easy.
