Garmin GPS Suction Cup Mount with 1Zero Quick Extension Arm

Jay B. Sigel: I have the Garmin RV785 and it's big and heavy. You have to think about the torque on the mount. The longer the extension, the greater the leverage. The problem is not the suction cup but the adhesive on the bottom of the disk. It will eventually fail. The ball part of the mount is too flimsy when inserted into the receiver on the back of the Garmin GPS. In order to keep this from wobbling all around, I placed some foam sponge material under the bottom edge of the Garmin. It both takes some of the stress off the disk and disables some of the ball's flimsiness. It's not ideal.

Chris: I have had several of these for my Garmin dzl.
They hold well and do their job, however I find they work far better not mounting on the windshield. The suction cups seem to deteriorate from the heat of the sun and eventually stop functioning and drop the gps like a stone. If you use the included flat pad and mount it on the dash it will last.

Jim: Used this on a recent trip with no issues at all. Stuck it on my dash and hold is strong. The ball is a tight fit, which is good, because my Garmin stayed right where I put it the entire trip without having to make adjustments. I recommend it. FYI, if your using armor all on your dash clean the spot where your going to mount this very well with alcohol. The suction cup is a sticky rubber. Leaves no marks behind on your dash.

Aldo Trujillo: I'm giving this four stars because the stand's suction isn't great. It took several tries to get it to stick properly, especially when driving on rough terrain where the truck's movements caused the stand to shake. Sometimes, the adhesion would come off, and I had to rinse it with water and try again to make it stick. However, I like the GPS programming, which allows easy address transfers from your phone without Wi-Fi. To update the GPS, you need to download their software on either Mac or Windows; I find it easier on a Windows pc, but it should work on a regular laptop too. Not to mention the durability of it is really good I've dropped it a couple times and it hasn't sustained major damage whatsoever.

Bb: TL:DR it’s a mount that you can use to replace your various types of mounting arms; I used it to replace my iOttie one that was lost, works great with no issues!

I bought this mount as the one that came with my iOttie phone holder/charger went missing after I transferred cars.

This mount was a 1:1 fit for it! It fit right into the ball mount hole, the screw fit snuggly to keep it from dropping down whenever you go over bumps (the iOttie supplied one had these issues, so this one has been better). The only difference between this and the iOttie that I remember is that the iOttie didn’t have a ratchet system, it used a little screw and you sliding the arm to where you want it which both methods work fine in my experience.

So far I’ve used it for a few months in the hot Texas heat and I’m happy to say it has survived so far with zero issues. The color hasn’t faded and the plastic hasn’t gotten brittle. I rest the bottom of the phone holder on the A/C vent to help support it and prevent the mount from bouncing around while driving. The overall stability once you have it mounted it top notch.

Claudio: I scrapped my old car and I couldn't remove the adhesive disc from the dashboard, so I had to buy the complete assembly again. It works very well and I never had any problem during approximately 1 year of use.

Sandra B.: Just received this item today. Came with black pad to mount to dash as well as clear plastic pad to mount to windshield. Well I didn't think the clear pad for windshield was necessary and BOY does it ever stick to winshield, so much so that I can't remove it without possibly damaging the rubber mount. It appears that there's some adhesive on it? Anyways, it's stuck there now (thankfully in the correct position) and won't be removing it anytime soon. If mounting on windshield I'd recommend using the clear windshield pad first, just in case the adhesion is not as extreme and if you want to possibly move it from vehicle to vehicle. Purchased it for our yearly migration to Florida so will add to my review after some considerable use.
