Tara Lynn TherapyTara Lynn Therapy: I was excited to receive this but was disappointing as it was not as pictured. It appears the ball is too small for the vase even when fully inflated. It does remain in the base but is not as pictures on the box or on photos in the ad.

Alyssa Garner: Got this for pregnancy and labor— didn’t end up using it. VERY thick material, which would. Be great for exercise but it was tougher to use for comfort with pain. I don’t love that the stand is also inflatable. It takes 24 hours to let it sit after “half” inflating it then you deflate and then reinflate.. and even with my little electric pump it took awhile. Can’t imagine using the hand pump it came with. I’m sure it would be great for exercise and it seems durable once you can use it but that beginning process is a little much. I wish I could return it but I went into labor early and missed the window. 🙃

A sensible personA sensible person: The ring arrived with a spilt in the seam and it won’t hold air. I contacted their customer support and they sent a new one! This is a sturdy ball and feels like it will hold up to exercising, but it’s not big enough to be a desk chair as it mentions. I’m 5’8” and this isn’t big enough for me sit on at a low desk, but it does fit under my desk nicely. The ring is nice and the exercise pulleys— the exercise given by them is also questionable tho. I thought it would be more effective.

Just me: Nice. Easy to inflate. Great instructions. Does what it says it will.
I switched from a desk chair that was causing pain to this. I was at first hesitant, but the stability ring made it all so easy. The ball stays in place and yet still has movement. Since switching to this I no longer have arm pain or back pain. I feel my hips are more flexible and others have told me my posture is greatly improved. I have and will continue to recommend this to others. Give it a try you might be amazed.

DS: [UPDATE: This is the second balance ball that has popped. I figured the first was just a defect. I am 200+ lbs so it seems as though anyone that weighs as much as I do or more should use this product with caution -- if at all.]

I honestly do not know how anyone can sit on any other seat. It took me over a year to rehabilitate the lower back injuries I suffered due to traditional desk chairs.

Geoffrey Fletcher: The reason I gave this item it's rating, is while sitting on it is indeed more comfortable than a regular seat, there are a few issues with it. I followed the instructions to inflate both the ball and the stability ring base, to the letter. And after such was done neither of these items could be inflated any more than they already are.

That being said the ball itself works fine, and I have owned ones before for fitness purposes. But the main reason I ordered the one with the stability ring, was to have the option of using it a seat of sorts, and more than a few times the stability ring didn't do it's job of preventing the ball from moving. In fact, the ball just simply rolled right over the ring as if it was not there.

But not being content sitting that low to the ground, I ordered another one with an actual chair base for the ball to sit in, and hopefully this will address that issue. Unfortunately they don't sell the chair base separate with that particular brand, so I will simply have a spare ball, just in case something happens to the currently inflated ball.

Whoozjomama: Item arrived on time but missing a plug for the balance ball. So can't use it... yet. I just called Gaiam to see if they would help me but they're closed. Sent an email instead and they have high volume emails so turnaround to hear from them is min 3 business days. Hopefully they will help me out otherwise I'll be left with an inflatable base but no ball .. will update with more information once I hear back from them.

Despite the shipping hiccup the material feels like quality and I am super eager to try it out!

Update: emailed with someone from Gaiam and pending plug shipment for about a week. Will update if received.

Evelyn: I spent a little time looking for a yoga ball but with classes being at home now I decided I really needed one. I like that this one comes with a base to keep the ball from rolling away when I stand up.
I'm mostly using it as a chair while listening to lectures so I can gently bounce and fidget. It came with a little starter guide of 6 exercises you can do, I thought that was neat so I've been trying them out as well.
The hand pump made quick work of filling the ball and base. I did find it a little tricky getting the stopper out of the ball on the second day to give it another round of inflation (it recommends to do a second filling after 24 hours) but other than that it really feels solid.
