Marisah: My cat Ava Baby doesn't much like most toys. And to add more complications to the mix, my little dog Bella Mae will steal those toys that Ava does like and put them into her own toybox. So when I saw this little pad on Amazon, I thought maybe it would work. And it does! Ava likes to bunch it up and sprawl on it for a rest and Bella doesn't pay any attention to it at all. It is a really neat looking pad also. So Ava has this and her cat tree and she's pretty happy.

K. Malek: We got this “cat carpet” for our little mischief maker to replace his old crinkle mat (which had finally given up the years-long battle). He loves it! It is plush velveteen on one side, and a sateen-type on the other, which means that both sides make the noise he really seems to enjoy when he slaps his mouse (toy mouse, for clarity!) around and under it, but not nearly as much noise as his old crinkle mat used to. This is important, as we are now working from home, and well, if that crinkle mat hadn’t been his absolute favorite, we would have long ago disposed of it just from the noise it made. The pattern is cute, and so far both sides have really held up, despite suffering multiple prolonged play sessions (he likes to shove the mouse under the mat, then grab the mat in his front legs while doing the kick-kicks with his back feet). Moreover, once he’s tired, the mat immediately resumes its normal shape when we come over to straighten it back out. Our other cats also like to lay down on it and roll around a bit when they’re sunbathing (and when they can get to it, assuming he’s not already on it). We haven’t really used the catnip inside of it, as there’s no need...
