Amazon Customer: I had looked for a long time for everything this unit offers. The slim size was perfect and I was able to store the items that I wanted. Wire baskets in the Warehouse section were purchased that fit the open shelves, I changed the knobs to match the wire baskets. Very happy with it. Do read the instructions carefully and follow them , my son and I were able to successfully put them together.

A daley: Over all this is a pretty good. Only 2 pieces were broke (both being knobs) but I didnt like the ones that came with it so that was fine with me. I didnt have any issues with assembly although i did put it together twice. The reason i did it a second time was to use wood glue and a few l-brackets to help reinforce it as it was a little wobbly without. Now, after a week it seems to be holding up well as a toy/book storage area in my 3yo's room, where he has constant access to it. Also when I initially order this product it was less than $20 but now I see the price has increased to nearly $30. I would pay the $20 again but due to all the extra reinforcements it needs to be truly stable, I would not pay $30. I know it's not that much of a different but with the added cost of the glue, new knobs and brackets it evens it out.

We've had this quite a while now and it has since, taken quite a beating. This was knocked over twice while moving rooms around. Still standing, not wobbly, cracks or chips. Put this together with wood glue and add 4 L brackets (I put one under each shelf, alternating sides.) And it'll be worth the money and effort. Also,...

EchoJuliet : I will admit that putting together furniture is not exactly my forte, but the instructions were not in English. There were some pictures but they were kind of shy on detail, and didn't make clear what distinguished similar-looking parts from each other - this was a problem with the 12 different kinds of screws/pegs/nails, but a bigger issue with the four boards that form the two shelves and top and bottom; these have holes drilled so you can assemble them correctly. It should be pretty easy to figure out which pieces go with which, right? I don't know how I messed it up twice, but I did. The first time, I took it apart and started again, but when I got it almost all together and realized I couldn't attach the doors because the holes weren't in the right places, I gave up (on the doors). Also, the little pegs they include to secure the vertical shelves are just balsa wood - not very sturdy, and at one point while I was on my second attempt I knocked something while trying to install the second shelf from the top and several of them snapped, leaving some of the pegs stuck all the way into the holes (and no extras to replace them with even if I could get the pieces...

Kristin Hodorowski: Overall, I totally love this shelf. I'm a pretty motivated do-it-myself-er, & this assembly was tricky but not totally impossible. Definitely do it when you have time and patience. It requires a lot of both. Overall though, for the price -- what a steal! The shelves look wonderful! The size is great, too. 31.5" height & other measurements were dead-on.

Instructions are mostly in Chinese, but just look at the pictures, which are labeled in English. There's no helpful narrative in English in the instructions. Pictures only. If you struggle, follow these instructions (because it's pretty tricky):

Assembly was surprisingly time consuming. Lay out the pieces. Each piece is stamped with a Red letter (A through G, I think). A few of the pieces are 1-of-a-kind letters, even though they look the same size as other pieces. Use the SCREWS to hold horizontal shelves in place from outside of each side, into the bottom of the horizontal shelves. Use the DOWELS (little wood pieces) to hold the middle shelves in place.
