Customer: Bought this for my good friend Phil who is close to retirement. Brought back wonderful memories of a colleague we used to work with who used to bore the stuffing out of us with his stories of fishing. Then he stuck his hand down the back of someone's wheelchair and quit, awks. Anyway the book is great.

john dougherty: I bought this book because I just like reading about fishing along with fishing. It's a lot of short stories about bazaar fishing experiences that most of us will never have and in some cases, never want to have. It is not written with same same skill and intent as John Gierach's or Nick Lyon's essays, but that wasn't it's goal. These are short recounts of professed 'true accounts'. The author claims they are verified and I have no reason to doubt him. You will find them astonishing in some cases and it just goes to show: if you do something long enough, some bazaar S*** can happen. I held back one star because I prefer the former referenced authors and that style of writing and I wouldn't want a steady diet of these stories. It's a book that will beg you to retell the stories to your fishing friends and even loan them the book so they will know you are not making this stuff up. You know, just so you can preserve your reputation as a truth teller with your fishing buddies.
