J. Grant:
A friend I go hiking with loves pad thai, so I decided to try this before surprising her.
All in all.... pretty good!
Following the directions exactly, the noodles were still a bit underdone. Resealing the bag and waiting an additional 5 minutes fixed that.
Portion size was decent. A lot of these bagged meals claim way more servings than they actually contain, but this one could be a light meal for two no problem. Or one big bowl for a thicker guy like me.
Flavor was surprisingly good. a lot of freeze-dried foods lack in flavor overall, but this has some depth to it, thanks to the peanut sauce. I would probably add a little spiced chili oil, as there was not a lot of spice to it, but if, like my friend, you don't do hot/spicy, this will work out fine for you.
Also, my friend is a vegetarian, and this meal is vegan. So that works out well. I'll be buying her a multipack of this.

T. White: As far as dehydrated food goes, I thought this one was excellent. I will be ordering more.

This is pretty bangin’ pad Thai for freeze dried meal. I bought like 10 of em because I will not be upset if I have to eat this for several days straight. It actually tastes like pad Thai, good pad Thai. There are joints near my house I’ve ordered pad Thai from and it hasn’t been as good as this (maybe that’s saying more about my local offerings than the product here but still). I work a lot and am recently back after destroying my dominant wrist and my partner is disabled in her dominant hand so this is a quick and low effort yet satisfying meal solution that I can whip up for us easily on those days when we’re both just exhausted.
Was stoked to find a tasty vegetarian option for freeze dried / quick shelf stable meals.

Very tasty! Better than I could make at home. Can be very spicy of you want it to be.
I've since bought more.

Purchased this for a car camping weekend that we decided to keep super simple.
This Pad Thai didn't disappoint. Very delicious and satisfying - easily enough for two people.
The only drawback (which didn't matter to us this time, but . . .) I feel like at 8.1 oz this pkg is on the heavy side for carrying into the back country.

I consider myself as a foodie and I don't write food review if it is not good/bad enough. So, hear me out.
Before I purchase this Pad Thai, I have watched and read a lot review about it and most of the people agree on its wonderful taste. Still, with skeptical, I bought one for my camping trip.
When I open it up, there are a bag with three little bags & a small paper pouch in it: peanut butter, roasted peanut, hot sauce and lime crystal
These are the extra ingredients you can add into your Pad Thai once it's ready.
When adding hot water, try not to add too much at once. You would want to add some more if you found the water it not enough. Over adding water will ruin its taste as it become watery. Once Pad Thai is ready, add in those ingredients till it fit your taste.
If you get it just right, you will have one of the best dehydrated food ever! The complexity level of its favor will blow your mind, and the most surprising is the lime crystal did not overtake other favors. If you like hot, spicy, add in some dried pepper flake will further boost the taste.
A definite recommend camp food imo!

Tried another Backpacker’s Pantry tonight... Pad Thai! It was really good. We added about 1/4 of the spice pack and all of the lime pack. It was REALLY Spicy for me and not spicy for my spicy-loving husband. Probably a moderate level of spice for the average American. The whole lime pack was just a little bit too much lime. Texture wasn’t like fresh made Pad Thai, a little bit mushy but it didn’t take away from the flavor. It wasn’t salty at all which was a pleasant surprise for survival style food.
Easy to make just like the Kathmandu Curry and Cuban Coconut Rice & Black Beans. I’d rate my second favorite with the Curry first so far. I bought a few more so more details to come!!
$14.95 for two meals is pretty dang cheap!

Cathleen: I have always been skeptical of the freeze dried food but bought this for a camping trip where we had to hike in so weight was a concern. It is really easy to make, just boil water and add to the package. Surprising this turned out excellent, it tastes exactly like pad thai. I have to say this is one of the best tasting freeze dried meals I have found. Definitely try this out!

Mert Man ©: I love the Pad Thai, it is unbelievably tasty for an MRE. I give them out to friends and I occassionally have one or two for dinner. It's like having a Thai restaurant in your go bag!
