kim: Great French press, it is well built and I do not have to worry about breaking glass anymore. Please know with coffee grounds in the bottom it does only fit about 16/17 ounces of water. I am very happy with the purchase.

A.: I was using an AeroPress until the plastic pieces stopped gripping together, resulting in two hot water coffee blowouts in the kitchen. So, I researched stainless steel french press coffee makers that would be built solidly and work on the same premise. This one appears to be well made. Like most people have said about a variety of brands that look like this one, there is a small gap at the pour spout, even when it's in the closed position. Therefore, I would not recommend leaving the coffee in for a long period of time, even though it says it is insulated. The first morning I used this, I did leave half of the coffee in the pitcher, and by the time I poured it, it was warm but definitely not hot - guessing it was 30 or so minutes later. Now, I pour the entire cup right away, and put a silicone lid on top that has no gaps. Coffee stays piping hot. I will say that the taste of the coffee is excellent. I grind beans every week or so and am now using a coarser grind per recommendation for a french press. I would say that the taste of my coffee is now superior to what I was getting using the AeroPress.

Clay: This is the first time purchasing and using a French Press, so I did a lot of research. My biggest concern was that there appeared to be a lot of no-name companies. With people being able to buy reviews, it makes it difficult to weigh the good reviews with the bad prior to purchase. I checked out a few competitors that do not use 3rd party sellers, and I found this gem with a lot of high reviews and nothing negative. The product is very simple, comprising two parts, the carafe and the press. It comes with an extra screen, which is a bonus. The directions comprise 4 images on the side of the box, which were a little concerning for someone new, but with only two pieces, it was simple to figure out...although it took me a week to figure out that the indention on the press should point towards the spout - I am fairly brain dead without my coffee, so don't laugh too hard. Product is very easy to clean. I don't find any grains in my coffee, so the filter works great. Coffee is very smooth and delicious. I am so happy with my product, that my single serve coffee maker is being used to make hot water than coffeer.

J. M. Holt: I purchased this through a special offer with the company. I've owned three French presses before this model. All were from more well known brands and all were made of glass. All of them eventually shattered either in hand washing them or cleaning them out. This caused me to look elsewhere in making coffee. In coming back to French press, two things I love about this particular model is first that it is stainless steel. There's no chance in me breaking this. It also won't leach anything into my coffee. Secondly the double walled aspect of this product ensures (naturally) that the coffee stays hot which is important for the extraction process. I use James Hoffman's French Press method (you can find it on YouTube) and this produced a good cup of coffee.

A couple of question marks that will be born out by use: the plastic handles aren't as solid as I expected. They don't feel cheap but they don't feel quite as nice as they could have. Secondly, the lid with plunger is double walled but the plunger goes straight through the middle of it. This raises the question to me about what happens when liquid in tiny amounts over time gets pulled up into the double walling part of the...

BryceBryce: I personally enjoy making my coffee in various ways (pour over, French press, moka pot, etc.) so I like to try out different devices as I can. I have two other glass French presses that I use quite often and I've wanted to try a metal one for a while now. First off this French press is very sturdy, it is not thin metal and the handle is sturdy as well. I like the sturdiness for potentially bringing this one camping or traveling and not having to worry about it breaking such as with my glass ones. It makes a good cup of coffee once you get your proportions right too and it kept my coffee warm, not extremely hot, for about 40 minutes the one day I took a little longer to pour it into my mug after pressing it (I wanted to see how it held up if I wanted to make multiple cups for myself). The only thing that I like a glass one for more is the feel of the press, the metal screen on the metal container isn't as nice as the feeling on glass. But that's a very small thing when compared to the increased insulation of the metal one and the reduced risk of breaking glass.
