LukeinTennessee: Greatest survival story of all time!

CN: Captain Worsley is a very capable author and his diary of Shackleton's excursion is a must read for anyone interested in the story of the Endurance. I had already read Caroline Alexander and Alfred Lansings' books so I wasn't sure I would glean anything fresh from Worsley's book. I can say without a doubt that it adds another layer of depth and perspective to the infamous historical narrative I've fallen in love with. So, yes, you need to read it.

John C. Adams: This book is well written. I've read a great deal about Shackleton and seen videos, movies, DVDs and Hurley film. But this book provides detail where the second hand accounts do not. If you like sailing, you will especially love this book. The testament also highlights some areas of disagreement between Sir Ernst and Worsley, not of much import, but also not often discussed. Overall a required addition to any Expidetion library. But most of all, perhaps of the the greatest adventures ever told.

carlos laguna: I really enjoyed this book. Reading Worsley’s actual words when he was in the thick of things puts you right in the center of the action. Fascinating. I am in awe of these men and all they had to endure in order to survive.
