Get the Flex-Drain 85010 Downspout Extension and rest assured that your home's gutter system is in good hands!S: This product is strong and I like how I can bend it. I ordered two in case one broke bit didn't crack like other ones did when I bent it or extended it. I had some trouble with the installation. Although the size was correct, there is a leak where the pipes connects to this piece, even after I inserted the pipe as far as it goes. It's not a significant leak though. Most of the water ends up where I want it. If you want to stretch the drain, you may have to apply some force. I had to hold it tight while someone else pulled the other end.

SFO Bro: They're great. People have mentioned that they are thin, and they are, but look at the cost, and of course, they are made in China - at least it says so right up front. That's almost refreshing. When you have downspouts that are dumping water directly into your foundation, ANYthing that directs the water away from the house is worthwhile and beneficial. They are pretty short, but that is also noted. They also mention that they can be buried, I wouldn't do that, this isn't your permanent fix. The mere weight of packed soil would at least begin to collapse these if they were stretched out. But for something quick, and they easily slipped over the lower elbows on my downspouts, and as a stopgap, these are fine. I didn't realize I'd ordered green, but they also have black and white. All 3 colors should work for just about everyone. Good enough, and I would buy them again. This is only after 1 day's installation, and we haven't had rain yet.....

jh: It does what its description says--extends the downspout to drain where you want it to drain. As far as stretching it out--I needed 4 pieces. I'm small and not unusually strong so I almost rejected this after reading reviews that said that it was very difficult to extend. The first piece did seem a bit difficult, but I did it by myself with only a little exertion and a bit of time. The other 3 pieces sat in the sun for a while before I resumed this project. They stretched out much more easily. You can start the process by flexing the piece over a railing or around your waist or over your leg. Attaching to the downspout is easy--it just slips on as does each piece onto the one before it if you are using multiples. We are expecting a good bit of rain in the next couple of days. I'll update if I find problems, but I don't expect to.
Update: No problems through rains--Everything stayed together. I'm ordering for another downspout.

Justin Opinion: These flexible downspout extensions are the same type that you will typically find in your local hardware or home improvement store. In fact, I purchased them through Amazon simply because my local Lowe's was out of stock when I needed them. If you are not familiar with them, these extenders allow you to divert water from your downspout away from the foundation of your house - something VERY important to do.
What makes these a great product:
- Price. Very affordable and easy to replace every several years as they wear or fade, etc. No big investment at all.
- Flexible, as the name says. You can shape and bend the extension to guide the water where you want it to go, around shrubs or air conditioners, even around corners.
- Length adjustable. Using an accordian style construction (or, corrogated if you prefer), you can extend them to their full length of about six feet, or extend just as far as you need them.
- Extendable. You can join these extensions end-to-end for additional length and shaping. This is easily done by cutting them along a well marked cut line and fitting small end into large end.. and they snap in place and stay put.
