Mountain Charlie: I had to connect the outlet from a pipe connected to a house downspout to a gutter crossing my driveway following a circuitous route. The ditch containing this flexible pipe curved in several places. This filled the bill. I don't know what the cloth covering is for.

Mark, North Georgia USA: I like this drain system a lot. I'm disabled having a hard time doing most anything. This was easy to use and it works well considering it's in red Georgia clay. I haven't found anything yet that the clay doesn't allow for fast drainage. this is best so far, why I really can't say, must be the sock construction. My first attempt at pulling out the 25 feet of hose to some what difficult, I had no real leverage. I ended up taking a couple seconds to screw the end of the hose to my deck as that's were i was working. two screws a few turns into the wood and I was able to pull the entire 25 feet out with little effort.. easy easy even for me.. I planned my system and order the parts I though i would need. I ended up at the depot buying more fittings to complete the job I haven't completed yet, I'm slow going, the jobs do get done!! reason I brought up the Depot is the don't sell in store hoses with the sock so that has to be purchased on-line. The depot does have all the fittings when you realize you didn't order enough or none at all of the accessory parts of the system. lowes does not sell the hoses with the sock in store as well but they carry all the fittings just...
