Andrea Brietzke: The wiring instructions are almost completely useless. 1 comment on here mentioned knowing if you have a positive or negative key lock. Yep, it helps to know that. Followed the diagram(s) the best I could with a limited but not too bad knowledge of wiring in electronics. Eventually figured out: Whites went to the door open/close, black ground, red constant power, yellows ended up being positive on my car, not negative, so that was trial and error. Orange ones weren't needed, browns went to flashers, green did nothing and blue was supposed to go to my trunk. That one and the green are totally dead! I used a tester, and the doors and neg/positive all lit up as expected when correct buttons on the fob were pushed, but no other wires lit up when trying to open the trunk (or otherwise!) Something must be broken inside, or.. I dunno..but at least my door locks worked after several hours of head scratching and googling, and trial and error on my locks. The wiring instructions really do suck!!! And my trunk.... grrrrrrr... :(

CJ: My 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 keyless entry didn't work. I went to a locksmith and they tried to program new key fobs but it didn't work (The SV6 model required a scanner to program the key fob). Told me I needed to go to the dealership to see what is wrong. I went to the dealership and it cost me $145 to diagnosis the problem. They said the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) was not functioning and it is no longer available. They could look for one on Ebay but the cost to replace was $800. Not going to happen( Could replace myself but no guarantee it will work). The dealership service person told me to look on Amazon for an aftermarket keyless entry system. Got on Youtube and saw a video of this product. I had the car service manual and wiring diagram and a little bit of digging around under the dash and spliced the correct wires and BAMM. It worked!! Good distance from car to unlock and lock. I only wired the keyless unlock/lock system. There is a way to wire the parking lights (brown wires) to flash when you unlock and lock but the wires I tried didn't work and it wasn't a big issue for me to have working. Some of the wires are for other services (rear hatch etc) if your...

ACE: I wanted to added remote entry to my 80's GM Project Car... It has factory power locks and remote hatch release so for the price, and features this unit seemed to fit my needs. I looked at other products and wanted a key fob that had a separate button for the hatch/trunk so I settled on this unit...
Installed in a 1983 Camaro..
First get a service manual for your vehicle (cheap from Ebay). It'll tell you what wires to hook up, where they are, etc.
As the top review stated - toss out the instructions... They are about useless.
Hook the red power led up to a constant 12v source.
Black wire is ground. Find a good, clean, ground. Don't simply tap into an existing ground.
Brown wire, this is for the parking lights... only one is used for my Camaro. Hooked into the corresponding Brown Wire (found in the service manual) under the drivers' side of dash by the C100 harness.
Door Looks... GM uses POSITIVE looks (at least in the 80s). So when you move the factory lock switch (Lock/Unlock) voltages flows through the factory switch...
So on this unit you connect the yellow and yellow/black wire together, and then connect this to a constant 12 volt source (not switched,...

Denys G.: You can buy the same system for half the price from other sellers. More basic than what they offer. I do not recommend it

An H. Pham: I have an early 90's Toyota that does not have keyless entry, although it does have central locking. I figured I would have to find a Toyota keyless entry system, which would likely cost $100.00 or so used. I did a search on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised to see this item. It seemed like a cheap option, but I was intrigued by its 4 star rating with over 100 ratings/reviews.
I read some of the reviews that cautioned that the installation instructions were virtually worthless, which is somewhat true unless you are familiar with reading wiring diagrams. With the diagrams provided in the photos of this product and the various information gathered from the reviews/Q&A I prepared myself for the installation. Fortunately, I have an Factory Repair Manual Electrical Diagram for my Toyota, which told me which wires to tap into.
My installation of this keyless entry module was significantly more involved because I decided that I wanted to isolate the driver's side unlock action to unlock by the first unlock signal from the keyless fob. It is a feature that most factory keyless entry vehicles have, where the first press of the unlock button will unlock the driver's side...

Customer X: Like a lot of other posters, I did have some trouble deciphering the instructions. It may sound stupid, but don't forget that the red and black need to be connected to 12v+ and ground, in addition to the other wires in the diagram.
That said, I have a fair knowledge of wiring and vehicle electronics so although I was stumped for a couple of hours it wasn't insurmountable and I eventually got it connected properly. Now that it's connected it works awesome, and for the money I don't think you can beat it.
I also de-pinned and removed the unnecessary wires from the harness to clean up the installation, it looks good. The remote fobs are pretty clean looking and not clunky feeling, they are simple and I like that.
Good product

JP: Works great this is second time I'm buying first one works for over 2 years on my truck. Only thing I don't like that you need to connect both yellow wires to positive and both orange wires to negative could be easier if they already did that inside the device. Because those wires have 0 purpose outside the box.
