Jamie Gatchell: Mark Goodwin has written another book that is illustrative of how the apathy of some of America’s citizens could cause a complete breakdown of government and the Constitution not being worth the paper on which it is written. Although the book is fiction, it’s eerily predictive of our government today. It’s a very thought provoking work.

Mary G.: I finished this book in one day. It portrays a scenario I have thought about myself, one which may be closer to reality than most people imagine. The characters are well-drawn and likable. I cannot recommend it more highly. I have already begun the second book in the trilogy. The three books came by mail very quickly, 2 one day, and the third a day later.

PatriotBelieverPatriotBeliever: I see Mark Goodwin’s work as well informed entertaining instruction that seeks to make plausible impending world scenarios that are happening and about to happened, visually understandable but also survivable. American Wasteland Book 1 is no exception and in fact comes much closer to our current reality than any of the author’s previous books.

What is so effective about this painfully relevant story (as we have begun to live the first portions of the book now to varying degrees around our world) is that in true Goodwin form, we get strategic doses of wisdom in the form of chapter intros from a balance of prophetic verses as well as real contemporary quotes. This is not out of the ordinary for the authors stories but this time, the quotes are more necessary than ever for those that are concerned and hope to prepare for our real future in the most effective ways.
Marks (sometimes) subtle use of names for not only individuals but even the name of the story’s version of the current viral enemy, are well thought out to the point of instructional in most cases (you will need to read for yourself to see the full impact of this very intentional...
