JayJay: These are honestly the cutest collars ever. We got the 2pk bowtie/bandana because we wanted something that matched but was not the same. The material is soft and nice.
There's no elastic portion like some collars, not is there a dedicated breakaway latch.
However, the latch does detach easily enough I feel safe leaving them in the collars. Our cats are indoor only and more mature/calm, so I don't foresee them getting caught on anything bad enough to hurt them. If you have kittens or outdoor cats you may want to go with something "safer" though.
