KMW: I bought two more sets recently and now I have all of the sets and colors Faber-Castell makes. I just love these. They are blendable and layerable and work in coloring books. The paint brush is awesome! I hope that FC will make more colors/sets that I can buy soon!

Elizabeth Dean: Gelatos have enabled me to do some amazing landscapes! The colours are lovely and easy to blend! In addition, I had kept some gelato sticks for a very long time, and, amazingly, their colours and other excellent qualities never diminished! It was almost as if I bought them yesterday.

DJT: I like these but they don’t work like regular watercolors. If you use them like a pastel but then add water with a brush, the line you drew with the gel stick doesn’t go away and remains visible underneath the spread of the paint. They are extremely transparent. I like them for certain things but we’re not as useful as I thought they would be.

GenerationPC: So I love to Color, and paint and I love to use all kinds of mediums to add some effects and just have fun with it.
(I do this for fun, I am no pro..)
So I bought these to try out. I have seen some review videos on it, so I already knew the gist... I colored with it and added water. I put wet brush on the stick and colored like that, i used dry and then blended with a blending wedge... they have some nice colors yes. But maybe I just dont like them so much. I would rather just grab my water soluble crayons and use those. Maybe it's too gelly for me. (?) Like I said... idk.
I guess if you're curious enough like I was, try it. It might be something you end up liking.

Patrice: I found they didn’t seem as creamy smooth as they did on some online videos I watched so I treated my paper with gesso first and they worked beautifully after that.

Since it's impossible for me to leave a review that short (seriously - I might even call myself grandiloquent...no, I wouldn't - I'd call myself a big mouth lol), I have to tell you why I find them to be totally superb. Let's talk about the color - delicious bright shades of tropical colors. These are the colors I would surround myself with in my world. I love how vivid and luscious they are.
Consistency: Like a velvety lipstick, they lay down color on every surface I've tried with splendid results. It doesn't take much to create a piece that really sings - especially when water is added. Using the included paintbrush with some water will allow you to move these yummy creams around your project with incredible ease. Adding a little water will just turn these into succulent watercolors - adding more water will allow you to achieve the "washed out" look that is so popular right now.
