Thalia Diaz-Lopez: I found this book enlightening because it presents almost a "human" aspect of the paranormal world. Thanks to this book I found out about Kindred Spirits and watching the show and reading the book at the same time was very moving. Understanding the paranormal from a more sensitive and psychological angle has given me a whole new hunger for learning and knowing more the why of things. This book I believe has taken out the fear of the unknown and helped me understand that just because you can't see it doesn't mean is not there and needs your help. Although I don't want to go look for ghosts, I do doesn't to learn more of them and the experiences people have.

Michelle: I have been a big fan of Ms. Bruni for years since she started on Ghost Hunters and her show Kindred Spirits as well as her podcast, Haunted Road. I read this book in less than a day. It was a great read as a person who believes in the paranormal. Ms. Bruni takes you on her journey into how she became involved in world of paranormal. The things she did with her dad, about her auntie's and their experiences with the paranormal. And her creepy dolls. Sorry, Amy, can't get on board with creepy dolls. LOL!
I have read not so nice reviews about her book, and some of them kind of ticked me off. 'Oh, she's writing to promote her shows or herself'. I wish I could put an eyeroll emoji in this review. She writes from her experiences from her shows and the things that she has experienced from being on those shows. The change in her investigation tactics that she has learned throughout the years and has strived to become a better investigator. To not only help the living that need help, but those of the other world that need help as well. Again, why wouldn't she write about those things? She is sharing her knowledge of what she has learned. Good things and not so good things. Writing a...

Anthony Avina: As a longtime fan of the author’s work both in television work and in the field of paranormal investigation, I have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to review this book. The author and investigator do an amazing job of balancing personal stories and her views on the paranormal with real-life lessons and techniques that aspiring investigators can take with them into the field, along with helping to shed the “horror” quality paranormal investigations often get from those who don’t fully understand the field.
The thing that really stood out to me in this book is how the author balances personal experience with infamous cases and beyond. For instance, the author can relay some incredible moments from seasons of Kindred Spirits in the personal homes of a mother and son, and then just as easily switch over to the infamous Conjuring House, and discuss each case in the same matter of fact and thought-provoking way. It allowed the book to maintain a balance of personal and emotional recollection with scientific and investigative reporting.
There were so many incredible stories and lessons to be learned in this book, but one that really resonated with me was the...

CassandraCassandra: Probably one of the best books I read in a long time. If you watched Amy on Ghost hunters or now on Kindred Spirits you kinda get a feel of how she talks, well I felt like she was actually telling me the story when I was reading it, if that makes sense, just flowed well and easy to read.
She’s just very passionate about her work and it comes through in this book. I loved every page and found it very hard to put down. If you did watch the shows you find yourself Remembering them, and having to go back and watch them because now your looking for things she explains weather it be a look between investigators or a sound you think you missed. Really resparked my interest in the paranormal...Hoping for a second one ?

Matthew Barker: I love Amy’s work as a “ghost hunter”. Her compassion, sincerity, open mindedness and sense of humour are great on TV and complement her forensic way of approaching paranormal investigations. This book blends all of that and sprains how and why she has helped shift the approach to paranormal investigations away from jumps and scares and sensationalist narratives, to the dignified and respectful search for truth of those people who are no longer living. Her work isn’t about caricatures of scary stories. Her work, as evidenced in this book, is about finding people and honouring their truth and their lives even though they are no longer alive. A very intriguing, accessible read. Highly recommended.

PaulaPaula: Having seen Any Bruni on Ghost Hunters, and then Kindred Spirits, I was excited to receive this book. Her anecdotes and memories of her 'hunts' are really well written in a way that drew me into them even more.
Her approach to spirits/ghosts is what made me intrigued by Kindred Spirits, and subsequently this book. Being empathic and seeing them as people as opposed to just something to prove and leave behind.
Thank you, Amy, for an enlightening insight into your world.
