Kindle Customer: In all honesty I knew nothing of this early struggle for black freedom and equality. This little book is so important and raises so many questions that are still relevant today! Haiti perhaps got there independence wrong and left the rest of the world ignoring them but the suffering resulting is something the world needs to address and quickly!

Igor Palmeira: A série é curta e não dá pra esperar muito. Mesmo assim, esse 'livro' surpreende pelo objetividade e conteúdo. A depender do preço, vale a pena.

Suwandy: This book gives you some knowledge but it gets increasingly harder to read as you progress. Perhaps because it seems that there's increased violence and war.

Sagar: Didn’t know how important it was. Knew about it but never had the time to read about. Thanks a lot for sharing this important piece of history in a amazingly summarised version.

Jung "Young" Dalton Parkims: Briefly written in simple English, yet with abundant information in enough detail, this book unexpectedly provides great evidence for the French global dominance under Bourbon Dynasty.
1. The Significance of the Country’s Independence in Our History

...Haiti had been a French colony known as Saint Domingue for more than one hundred years when the revolution began...
(Kindle Locations 10-18)
...However, by the time it ended in 1804, the Haitian Revolution would completely overthrow the ruling class, abolish slavery, and challenge globally dominant ideas about race and power. The Haitian Revolution also reverberated around the world in different ways than other revolutions. In almost all areas of the Atlantic World (Europe, Africa, South America, and North America), economies were dependent on slave labor and the slave trade. This had included Saint Domingue, France’s most profitable colony (and arguably the most valuable colony in the entire Caribbean). Saint Domingue primarily produced sugar cane, an incredibly labor intensive cash crop. Slaves were regularly worked to death, as thousands more arrived each year to replace those...

Lokison123: This volume did the best it could to document the absolute chaos that was the Haitian Revolution. It is probably one of the most fairly balanced tomes on the subject but I found it to light and superficial, but it is not unexpected.

K. Kumar: Haitian Revolution is a nice, short history of the Haitian Revolution. Having recently visited Haiti, I was interested in getting some perspective on the history of the country and trying to understand why it was so under developed. This book definitely provided some of that needed perspective and I would recommend it for anyone planning a trip to Haiti. The country is one of the most unique places I have ever visited, really unlike any other place I have been to. But the overwhelming sense I got was of the poverty and underdevelopment of the people despite their positive spirit. I am glad I read this book in order to better understand the history and culture of Haiti.

Dee Arr: “Haitian Revolution” is one of the better Hourly History books. Just like all the HH books, it can be easily read in sixty minutes or less.
There are reasons that set this book apart. First, the writing is extremely clear and leads from one point to another. There is also not the repetition of facts that sometimes seems like filler. This book makes us of its limited space to supply the reader with as much information as possible.
Second, the facts are presented and the reader is allowed to judge what to think. The opportunity to make political statements is ignored, and the focus is on educating folks about the history of Haiti.
This concise history is a good overview for anyone wishing to find out about Haiti, and provides a solid beginning for anyone who wishes to learn more. As promised, it accomplishes this is an hour or less. Five stars.
