Dorothy Robinson: This author, this book reveals history concerning enslaved people which has not been presented in American schools, in order to teach, educate all races about the brutality, abusive terror that the African enslaved people had to endure. I am truly amazed about the information that Henry Louis Gates Jr. has shown us, his videos, the whole teaching instrument.
This book should be a required read for all students.

karenkaren: We purchased this book as a gift for our daughter. The content was so important we wanted to be sure to give her a hardcopy so that the information could be shared for generations. During the purchase we learned that the book was signed by the Author, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and contained a "Certificate of Authenticity" for the signature by the author.
Many thanks to the seller, JJF Sales LLC who provided extraordinary customer service and went the “extra mile” of enclosing a gift card. Our daughter’s reaction upon receiving the gift was priceless! “OMG! This is so beautiful! Thank you so much!”. It was a pleasure to do business with JJF Sales LLC and thank you Laura for the excellent customer service and helping to make this gift extraordinary! It’s a treasure!

MJ: I enjoyed this book as a masterpiece. I love history but there was always a void when it came to historical events about Black (African Americans). I think this book should be in every High School reading curriculum. I learned more about myself and the humble beginnings that I descended from. This book definitely dealt with the pains and the resiliency of my people. Additionally, I think White Americans should read because this is American History. I like to thank personally the authors for the time, dedication and diligence to help educate people of the struggles that people of color had to endure. And these chronicles allowed me to have a profound respect of the many lives that suffered so we ALL can be citizens of this nation.
