YourGoddess: This is a great book, it is written in an easy and compelling style. Plus gives insight into the mansion which I found interesting since I was hooked (years ago on the GND series). I always liked Holly and Brigit in particular. The moral of the book as a cautionary tale is that, if you 'use' people for money or fame, you probably going to have to pay in a big way. The girls used Hef and he used them. The part that surprised me really was Holly's obsession with how she looks, how she looked how everyone else looked in comparison to her. I really felt she was deeper than that in some way. Overall this type of lifestyle is highly toxic I think. I think Playboy died a long time ago due to these kinds of factors but I do believe the GND series kept it afloat a little while longer. It's a good thing, Playboy no longer has a real place in society anymore.

Lisa Doherty: IF everything in this book is, in fact, real then I feel very sorry for Holly and what she went through living with Hugh Hefner and other girlfriends/playmates however if it is nothing more than something she wrote to get sales it is still a very good read. From reading it I did get the feeling it was very real although I did watch 'Girls Next Door' and her love for Hef seemed genuine which makes it hard to know.
You could look at it as her being someone who had been in a relationship where she ended up believing the love she was feeling was real and until she was away from the 'Mansion' didn't realise just how bad she actually had it.
I did really enjoy the book, be it real or for sales, and would highly recommend it if you would like some insight to the goings on of the 'Playboy Mansion'. She revels alot of very sick and sad goings on including things like how the carpets and everything else, including beds and mattresses, in the house date back to when it was bought and regardless of how destroyed things are Hef refused to refurbish the house. The goings on of the sex lives is very sad too, it isn't anything more than we would expect from a man like Hef but being...

Nicole: I love Holly Madison, and this book really gave an amazing view of what went on behind closed doors. It kind of pieced together the puzzle of the oddities I noticed when watching the show. Kendra really needs to sit down and chill out, because this is Hollys story, and this makes a lot more sense then her version of the tales. I read this cover to cover in about a day. Super addicting. Which really says something, as I am not an avid reader.
Holly took enough time out between making this book and leaving the mansion to obviously leave behind the anger and speak only of facts and what she remembers. For those whom have never been in a negative or bad relationship, it is easy to leave the bad memories behind and basically make them not exist in your mind. Some of the book, she either left it out because nobody wants to read the truly graphic details, or if she legit forgot those details, which reinforces how bad it truly was in the Mansion.
Yes, she made mistakes, which she owns up to. Just about every 20something can say that they thought it was love when they are asked why they were with someone. You do everything we can to make it work, which she obviously did. I...

Jelly: I have to confess that The Girls Next Door, which shot Holly Madison into the spotlight, was a huge guilty pleasure of mine and I was an avid viewer to see what antics Hugh Hefner's girlfriends got up to each week. In her autobiography, Holly reveals what life was really like behind the scenes at the Playboy mansion and it certainly makes for a fascinating read for fans of the show. Holly explains how she came to be an octogenarian's arm candy and the effects it had on her life. As a viewer of the show I was shocked at some of her revelations, especially when she describes the depression she felt. Before reading this book I thought she was genuinely in love with Hefner despite the age gap and was happy with life at the mansion, but underneath she was desperately unhappy and she paints scenes of an unhealthy relationship which I didn't expect. While I know the camera lies and the show would have been heavily edited, at times it was hard to tell whether Holly's life was actually that miserable or whether she is just looking back with bitterness?
Considering this is a celebrity autobiography it is actually very well written and it really engrossed me. This is a must read for any...

katarinaism: Though I've never been a Playboy fan or ever really a watcher of GND (though on the few episodes I did catch, I always found Holly to be the most intriguing of the bunch), Holly Madison's memoir piqued my interest. I grew up in Vegas, so the stories of parties and clubs were always in the air and I remember hearing about her getting the role on Peepshow a few years back.
So when she wrote a memoir, my interest was piqued, not so much because she was a Playboy girl, but because she had left and was writing about her experiences. I think most readers -including myself - wonder, what would motivate someone to live there (other than the obvious material gains) and were they really in love with him, or just pretending, or just deluding themselves into feeling that way? Were they truly happy, or did they fall into a comfortable situation and find it too difficult to orchestrate a departure? Did they mind sharing their 'boyfriend' or was it actually better that way, taking some of the pressure off of fulfilling all of his needs? Lots of questions. On the few times I saw GND, they always seemed to be upbeat and pleasant with each other, though one would surmise that there were more...

Alyssa Firth-Bennett: I brought this book a few weeks back not really sure if I should read it as I thought it wasn't going to be that good. But boy was I wrong al admit I didn't like Holly when I watched her on GND, but after reading this it had made me rethink everything and I have to admit she must have felt nothing but awful living there all that time putting up with a man that liked to bring women down to their lowest. I use to love playboy and now I'm not so sure the idea of it makes me want to get rid of everything I own that is playboy. I loved the book and I now have more administration toward holly she is a strong women who found the strength to walk away from the man that brought her years of heartache and made her believe she was nothing. I think that every ex of his should come out and write about him to show the world that life at the mansion isn't all what we are led to believe at all. God knows how many other women are worried to speak up against this man they should be like holly and speak up don't hold back have their say. People pull holly down as we all see in the magazines but of they took the time to read this book they would see she lived her life life a prisoner in alot of ways....
