You WILL need the trolling motor, though, otherwise the slightest breeze will just blow you across the lake and paddling is a pain in the a***e! Brilliant boat and very stable but personally I wouldn't trust it in the sea!! The company that supplied mine, "stack m high" were absolutely brilliant when I had a problem with mine... Replied within 12 hours , did all the work with Intex and within a week I had a brand new boat delivered! If your going to buy an Intex boat, buy it from " stack m high" ..Totally reliable, friendly, and helpful!

Pen Name: This is a fantastic inflatable boat! I have taken it out a few times and so far no holes or tears! My main goal with this boat was to have a relaxing day on the lake to go fishing with a few friends and it is perfect for that!
A couple of things to note that I wish I would have done more research on before buying:
Can you put 5 people in this boat? Yes, however you wouldn’t be able to move an inch. The first time I went out we had 4 adults in the boat and it was pretty crammed but bearable(we did also have fishing gear with us), I would say 3 max if you want to be comfortable.
I would highly recommend getting a motor in my opinion. It comes with paddles but it’s a big enough boat where it gets exhausting paddling the whole time. With that being said this would add around $250 with the mount, battery, and motor but is definitely worth it! The only downside is depending which state you live in (most of them I believe) you will need to pass a boating safety course and register the boat which is another $100.
Lastly, expect it to take 30 minutes to set up/inflate the first few times you do it. It comes with a manual pump but takes a lot of air and is exhausting. If you...

Michael: I bought this as a cheap alternative to an expensive dinghy that you tow behind a motorboat. It fits my fam of 5 and stuff easily and is great for rowing to an island off the stern of our boat. It inflates great but we use an electric inflater. So much faster.

The boat is durable and holds most of its air for up to a week without needing to add a bit. I trust it on the water and it's not too bad when walking into or off of. Very stable.

Only downside: you can't tow it. It's design makes it bog under the water of you try to pull it as an empty craft behind. I wanted to use it as a lifeboat or island hopping raft and I figured just towing it back behind the boat would suffice until we needed to put people on it. No dice. It will go under. So we still use it but I have to tie it so the front lip rests on the back deck out of the water on the back of my boat. First world problems. Great raft design otherwise. Loads of fun to be had.

Be advised your small children may call you their rowing slave while using it. :P

Sam MingoSam Mingo: Well if you are reading this you are probably considering buying this boat. Great choice but before you purchase understand this is more than a $150 boat and it has some limitations.
First and foremost it does not seat 5 people. It is more of a 2 to maybe 3 adults. 2 adults and a couple of kids would work pretty well.
Second, trying to row this big boat is tough. You will want a trolling motor for this boat.
Third, at least in North Dakota, if you put a trolling motor on any boat, including inflatables, it needs to be registered with game and fish and you have to follow boating laws. (If you dont put a motor on it you shouldnt have to register it)
Fourth, this is an air boat, it works extremely well on little to no current. I havent tried it in a river with a current yet but i dont think i want to.

Overall im very pleased with this boat. It seems to be tough as the vinyl is thicker than an air mattress. The fishing pole holders seem cheap and in dont think id trust my poles using them. The boat is very portable but is pretty heavy. Much easier to load and unload with 2 people. Also this boat is rated for 1300 pounds people and equipment weight. I have at least...
