Dr.M.Sylvester: Price went up before payment for almost all the books in the cart! Seemed unusual.

Amazon Customer: I used this book to plan my trip to Morocco and I used it while there. The information in the book was spot on and accurate. There was enough detail on the historic sites. After using a Moroccan guide at several places then reviewing the information in the book, I found the book to be accurate. I did not use the guide for restaurants. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the listings. Overall, another excellent guide book from Lonely Planet.

Liz G.: So glad I bought this book before we went. It gave us all the places to go & the things to do & more so the things to be weary of & not to do it was 100% correct. Wherever I travel next I will be buying the lonely planet travel guide.

nameless here: I looked at several Morocco guides and I thought that for basic information this was the best. I didn't need the hotels but the descriptions of what to see are apropos. The only issue is if you are on tour and going in a different direction than the organization of the book you have to figure out where to find what you want and what is around it.

Catherine E. Crawford: A rich blend of regional history and travel planning tips for those going to Morocco. The book's organization allows its readers to jump in anywhere and soak up the plentiful details without being locked into a preconceived narrative. Everything seems to be here you'd need except instructions for non-Moslem women on how to wear a head scarf. No need to include that in the book, though, as Googling "hajib" will find you numerous sites with illustrated directions.

Ida-Ho-Down: This is a good primer. No travel book can be-all-end-all but we felt it comprehensive even in places off the beaten track. Coincidence that many recommended Dar's and Ryads are UK owned from a UK publisher and UK writer? I don't know.
A little advice if you're planning a trip to Morocco: 1). Assume all police are corrupt and WILL issue you tickets and attempt to steal electronics. This is a fact. 2). Expect EVERYONE to ask you for money to the point of extreme annoyance. Yes, it is as bad as Egypt. From the minute you get off the plane there is an expectation for money. 3). DO NOT go to Marakesh. It is full of scam artists who WILL aggressively confront you on the Djemma el Fna. It is a crime that UNESCO has made this a world heritage site given what it has become; a circus of pickpockets and pan-handlers. In the Fna they will even physically tug at you for money. Residents will intentionally get you lost in the medina then demand money--which is never enough. This happened 4 times and we have traveled to many, many non-first world countries. Lastly, motor-bikes are permitted in the Marakesh medina and the young locals make a game at riding as fast as they can through the...

A.E.: just returned from a fantastic three week trip to Morocco. Couldn't have done it without the book, very detailed info in regard to dining/sleeping/what to see/culture and historical background. Even my local Moroccan friends referred to it and learned something new as well. Will from now on always buy from Lonely Planet travel series books when traveling. Thank you for an awesome book!
