Social Workin Mom: I am not usually one to read these types of stories where someone is hunting a serial killer. I find them predictable. This one kept me guessing, and not being right. The story is very much interlaced with themes of grief. There are moments where it seems like it's going to be really cheesy like a horror movie, but then it isn't.

Nicola Mansfield: Aaron's wife is killed unexpectedly and as he goes through her things he finds a receipt for a motel room across the country. He travels there and finds out she had been up to something in the weeks before her death. Aaron decides to follow in her footsteps and finds his wife has been keeping many dark secrets from him.
First, unlike the other books I've read by Malfi, I would not call this horror, to me I'd describe it as a mystery with some magical realism. The book is incredibly well-written, intelligent and a deep read. I was immersed in this world. I found myself wanting to like it more than I did, though. I had a sense that I knew what was going to happen and was not shocked by any of the reveals. I was more accepting of events as a logical turn rather than a twist. I was attached to the main character though and wanted him to succeed. The book had me in its thrall.

Emma: Although this would be classed as a thriller, this is really a slow burn yarn about a man trying to grieve for his murdered wife whilst continuing her legacy which just so happens to involve the unravelling of a murder mystery. It’s emotional, it’s haunting and it’s completely immersive. I felt so bonded to Aaron and went through it all with the guy!! There’s the small town sense of isolation and secrets throughout and I was there, on the journey as he discovered vered who his wife really was and what she was looking for. The writing is gorgeous, the pacing is perfect - I loved it!!
Come With Me immediately reminded me of Michelle McNamara and her quest to find the GSK - right down to her untimely passing and the continuation of her work. If you are a fan of I’ll Be Gone In The Dark - give this one a read. In fact, I point blank recommend this book to everyone.
I’ve not been feeling my best lately and maybe this book just came along at the right time but I really did feel connected to it.

LW: Well written, engrossing, a bit slow but it had me hooked right at the beginning. Its about about secrets, love, grief, a serial killer and has undertones of supernatural involvement.

Gavin Walker: This was my first experience with Malfi's work. That said, I found his descriptive prose almost melodic in parts.
I went in pretty much blind to the story, only knowing it was an amateur investigation into historic murders.
The continuous ramping of grief through the chapters I found particularly haunting, not because the protagonist had lost his wife, but more he was finding out she wasn't the woman he thought she was.
For some reason I expected more supernatural elements to the story, but enjoyed what was in there nonetheless, and I loved how they were explained in the last few pages and what was responsible for them. I found the idea of that original and loved it.
I'll definitely read more Malfi, his slow burn style is up there with the King, and I do prefer supernatural mystery over creature horror.

Tanya Nowak: Imagine, if you can, careening down a path you thought you knew so well that every twist and turn of the path was known to you even before you had a chance to see the next turn in the road. I mean, you knew that path well enough that no matter what happened you thought you could handle it.
Next, I want you to imagine what it would be like if that path suddenly no longer made any sense to you and as matter of fact, now you found that monsters lie in the darkness on either side and the slope became so impossibly steep that you had no choice but to continue on for climbing back up the hill was impossible.
I argue that this is quandary we find our protagonist Aaronn Decker in.
Truth in advertising, I have been a Ronald Malfi fan for son long. It is hard not to love his work. You have not heard of Ronald Malfi? Have you never heard of Stephen King, or Josh Malerman? How have you never heard of Ronald Malfi, the master of true psychological horror? Well, read on and pick up a copy of this book.
In his latest offering, Come With Me, we see the life of Aaron Decker as he is after the death of his wife. Guilt and grief stricken, we find a man searching for a way...

Phil: COME WITH ME by Ronald Malfi is, honestly, everything I look for in a novel. A tightly wound narrative of paralyzing grief, loss, and undying love cuddled in a blistering whodunit shell, swaddled in a paranormal blanket and barreling forward with inescapable momentum, this novel hits all the proper notes.
They say write what you know. The story begins as Aaron Decker’s wife leaves home for the last time and becomes the victim of an active shooter situation at a strip mall. The description of Aaron’s fear and the unknown whether his wife survived or not is heartbreaking and traumatic. Later, in the acknowledgments, Malfi offers up that a close friend of his was killed in a similar mass shooting. He is writing from the heart and in a most personal way.
After the funeral and relatives coming and going, Aaron gets around to opening his dead wife Allison’s personal chest of belongings and the story really takes off. He discovers she was hiding a fixation on an old mystery linked to her early family life. And never told him about it. Aaron had been married to Allison for five years but she had kept most of her childhood stories to herself. He now gets a peek into her...

koontzie: Come With Me" was like a lifeline in my reading slump. My favorite author has seriously set the bar (crazy) high for what I want from other writers too (think solid, gripping stories with zero plot holes, three-dimensional characters, twists you can't see coming, hints dropped like breadcrumbs throughout...). After devouring all her books, finding anything that even comes close has been a real struggle. I plowed through six different author's books one after another, and none of them could keep me hooked. I was seriously starting to lose hope. So, I turned to my bookish friends for help, and one of them told me that "Come With Me" by Ronald Malfi sounded like what I was looking for. And they were right!!
This book is a perfect mix of thriller, horror, and suspense, but it doesn't stop there. It's also a profoundly moving portrayal of love, grief, and trauma. Aaron, the narrator, is an incredibly relatable character with whom I empathized right from the start. We accompany him on his quest for answers, traversing both the tangible and spiritual worlds. He is deeply haunted by the absence of his deceased wife, and he holds onto the hope of uncovering the secrets she concealed...
