ronni marcinkowey: It’s 2020 and we’ve been in various levels of shut down and quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I found myself reading so many books! Scary books funny books memoirs about terrible childhood books about personal struggles and as the COVID-19 continued we found ourselves slipping into some sort of stunned exhaustion at all the things happening in this year 2020. All of our summer plans slipped away having to be canceled One by one due to states of emergencies and travel restrictions and risk of infection-travel,weddings,graduations Etc.So, I kept reading just to get a break from the constant onslaught. Then I found this book, “Escape from the ordinary”by Julie Bradley with a picture of a beautiful sailboat on the cover and decided to give it a read. Sailing was something I’ve never experienced. My water travel was limited to my kayak. So I started to read and was instantly taken on a journey with these two remarkable people I never met written in a way that took me away from all the madness.
