Chuy Reyes: Para ser un libro escrito hace más de 2000 años, la traducción, y la presentación son inmejorables

Harald Herchen: This book helps you see how people thought so many years ago, and there are quite a few things to apply to today's world from back then. The book is well made and easy to turn the pages. Love it.

PJ Plato : Even though this is an old translation, I like it. The book itself is well made. The book arrived with a small tear to the cover and a couple small bent corners. Which initially really upset me. But for the most part it is in good condition. Amazon, please keep your books in sealed plastic wrap, sealed again in some container and protected! Please!

laphier:
This is a beautiful book. All 13 books of Euclid are contained in this single volume, translated by Thomas Heath -- a classical book to keep referring to. The book has clear and relatively large front. Many plots are included in each page to illustrate the Proposition.
I bought the hard cover version, and satisfied with what I got.

Amanda K. Fletcher:
I bought this for a course at Hillsdale college called “Mathematics & Logic”, or something to that effect. The course is free, so why not become totally immersed in the content by getting the book. Plus, I love books!
Anyway, I can’t follow it really, but the language is absolutely beautiful! Euclid’s Elements was required curricula in schools from its writing up until the early 1900’s, I believe. It was removed, as apparently they didn’t believe it was useful any longer. I also believe that we have several failing generations (of which I am a member), because this text has been largely lost to time. The logical arguments in this text are sometimes hard to understand/grasp, but training oneself to understand them, can lead one to develop actual “critical thinking” skills. Being horrible in mathematics, such as myself, may actually stem from being “memory trained” in public schools, rather than being trained in understanding logical arguments, in the way people were trained pre-1900’s.
I can’t follow it too well, mainly because I grew up in the 80’s/90’s and I never met a single person that spoke so eloquently, or had...

QUALITY:
Impressed with the print and paper quality which is necessary for a book that is collectible and requires multiple readings.
The size and dimensions are perfect for this edition considering how they condensed 13 volumes into one single book.
PRICE:
I got this book for Rs: 1,720/-, seems like a lot but considering the price on other editions and comparing the translations it's worth the price.
NITPICKING:
"Where is Euclid?"
"Right there."
"....but it's just his hand."
If there is one thing that slightly bothers me about this edition, it is that you can only see Euclid's hand tracing a shape with calipers but not his entire figure. The young man in blue robes is a pupil of Euclid, not Euclid himself. I included the original bottom right section from Raphel's masterpiece "The School of Athens". Maybe they intend to see yourself on the cover as the man in blue and Euclid is the book itself.
I know... I'm just nitpicking, but that's what you do when you love something so much. The good thing is that they included Raphael's painting and that is good enough.
