Arthur J. Cooper: Plus side: The Espro makes great tasting coffee if you start with good beans. If preheated, it will hold a good drink temperature for an hour or more and decanting is not needed. Downside: Even with the fine mesh screen there is still a bit of fines in the brew. It is also hard to pour out the last cup as the grounds can block the basket. Putting a paper filter over the basket would probably solve these minor issues. Overall I'm glad I purchased this unit.

labyrin: This coffee press makes a fantastically flavorful drink with even ordinary ground coffee. Use the good stuff and it is even better! It is easy to clean, stores nicely in a cupboard, and looks great on the counter when being used. Highly recommend!

Nepean Mama: I loved the smooth brew!
It is hard to read the levels inside the pot, until the steam reveals them, so pour the water in slowly.
It is beautiful, and easy to clean.

Malor: I bought this along with a super high-quality grinder, and discovered that I kinda only needed one or the other.

The mesh filters are fine enough on this that you can get away with a relatively crappy grinder. You can even use regular pre-ground coffee, and it'll come out okay. With a normal glass/single layer mesh press, using regular grounds will result in actual sludge in the bottom of your cup. With this unit, the Costco bulk ground coffee will leave some fines in your cup, but will work fine otherwise; the second layer of screening is good enough to keep the sludge at bay.

If, on the other hand, you have a high quality, consistent grinder, you can buy a less expensive press and do fine. That said, pairing this with a good grinder makes absolutely *splendid* coffee. You don't necessarily need both, but I doubt you'll regret the purchase. The double filters can also help you calibrate your grinder; if the inner filter is getting many grounds on it, you probably want a slightly coarser grind.

This unit is tall and skinny, and does better with a tall sink for cleaning. If you're trying to rinse it out upstairs in a standard bathroom sink, you should be able...

Terry Hio: Exceeds my expectations! Never had better coffee! No grinds, coffee is piping hot. I got the cranberry color and it is gorgeous. I had been using a plastic travel press. It did the job but I always had grounds in my coffee (I just thought it was part of what a press did). I can't believe how clean this coffee is. I highly recommend this press. Quit throwing away those Kcups and get a better cup of coffee!

Richard K. Wolf: So the ESPRO P7 is pretty much what I had hoped it would be. I do love making French press, but it's always a pain in a few ways. First is that, eventually, I end up breaking the glass on a traditional press. This is not a problem for the ESPRO as that thing is built like a tank. I mean, it's not gonna break. Second problem I always have is that every single cup I pour out of a traditional press always leaves a bit of coffee sludge at the bottom of my cup…my previous presses could never filter it out…it drove me nuts. Again, not a problem for ESPRO. The micro filter thingy does a tremendous job of making sure my coffee is sludge-free (I do get a very tiny amount on the very last cup…but I am wondering if that is the result of switching my grinder settings back from the espresso setting ("18" on my Breville) to French press grind setting ("58")…i.e., if there is not a tiny amount of coffee powder left over in my French press grind. The ESPRO is really simple to clean…it's easy to whomp the bottom of the press to get the grounds to pop out, then simply rinse everything out. So, overall, I'm super happy with the ESPRO…I wish I had heard of it sooner.

Tyrone BeironTyrone Beiron: If you're here to get one, you probably have watched the videos on YouTube or a friend using one. Both, in my case. Then finally, I decided to have the White Matt large 32oz, that means 10 tbs of coarse ground coffee if I wanted max ☕️. The double mesh filters are 9x and 12x finer than ordinary press, and ordered the paper filters as well as a spare (these are pending delivery). It's recommended you get these with your first order so you don't have too much to wait. The Espro7 arrived a whole week ahead of schedule, thanks to Prime membership. The box did arrive with dented edges but I was confident this would not affect the item within. Amazon could have done a better job with packing but I'm all for minimising plastic wrap use. The quality of the finished product is as good as advertised and looks terrific on the tabletop. I can't review the coffee here - that can be so subjective. But users of the large should note that the recommended steeping time (95 deg boiling water poured into the press with freshly coarse ground grains inside), should be about 4-5 minutes before using the plunger with an even pressure. Some claim to simply leave the plunger longer, and one said 3...

Jason M: The Espro french press is visually pleasing, however, we found the coating to be rather fragile, the white color marks up easily during cleaning, and you will mark it up because for a 32oz press this thing is enormous. Unless you have a large sink, you're likely to find yourself making a conscious effort to keep from bouncing the press off the sink walls.

In terms of function, we found that the press did not perform well as a double walled insulated product, I can leave steaming hot tea in a double walled insulated Yeti mug for 3 hours and at no point does the exterior of the mug feel any warmer than ambient temperature. With the Espro french press, seconds after pouring hot water into the press you can stat to feel the exterior temperature of the press increase, after a minute the press is very warm, almost too hot to hold. If you were planning on making two cups of coffee so that you could drink one after the other, this will most likely leave you with a close to luke-warm second cup.

Considering the price, the coating which does not appear to be very robust, and the poor performance of the double walled insulation, the 3-star rating is the best I can offer for...
