Kristin Maddison: I love this press. When I asked for a french press, I expected a basic press. You know? Whatever gets the coffee to my mug… when my husband bought this mamma-jamma, I’ll admit I saw the price and almost cancelled the order just based on that. But, I am a changed woman and I was wrong. There I said it. This thing is great, worth every penny.

Amazon Customer: I cannot comment on the quality of coffee it made as I only brewed one pot before being distracted by having to reheat the second cup in the microwave. I think its insulating properties are slightly inferior to those of my Bodum Columbia press, as it should be since it lacks a means to keep heat from escaping the spout between pours. I can say that it pours very nicely with no drips and that the filter system appears be superior to most.
It has to be said that there is no french press available, as far I know, that it is capable of keeping our brews hot, let alone one with the capacity to render three mugs each for a two people to enjoy of a Sunday morning. For some reason decent and logical design has not been devoted to the problem, which is totally weird when you consider the obsessive nature of today's coffee culture. Hey out there: Give us a french press with adequate decoupled insulation, including the lid (heat rises, remember?), with a sealing solution for pouring, and make it big enough. Design it first to function, then worry about how stylish it is.

Isabelle T.Isabelle T.: Perfect size for two! Easy to clean and very durable. I have been using this French press for many months and it is still as new! It really is a quality product and worth the money. I really like the sleek modern look so it’s not a problem if it stays on the kitchen counter! Also, the filters are very easy to clean!

Tyler Busse: The best coffee maker I've ever had. A French press is inherently time consuming but it is so worth it.
The coffee remains hot for a few hours and can even be left for a full 24 hours, maybe even more, to be reheated the next morning without being overly bitter.
I have used this thing literally hundreds of times over a year and a half and it's showing hardly any signs of use.
One con of note is that as you pour the last bit of coffee out, some grounds sometimes come out with it.

Hot CommodityHot Commodity: We would have kept this if it was more compact. Due to the double-filter, this press is much larger than a regular Bodum, and felt ungainly to use. It's a beautiful design object but not for us.

JyF: We have had many different French Presses in the past, stainless steel, glass, etc. but this has to be the best. It is not inexpensive but well worth the price. You can taste the difference from the very first sip. The coffee made from this press is free of the tiny coffee ground particles that you just want to drink more and more. The press is very well made and retains heat very well. The only negative (if you want to call that a negative) is that we go through the beans so much faster now because we just can't stop drinking coffee from this press.

Amazon Customer: This French press is really good and makes great coffee. The only down side is that the black paint has been chipping off, I just purchased this french press in April. I should have purchased the stainless steel one.

Kevin M CostelloKevin M Costello: While it's great at keeping coffee warm and does a marginal job at keeping debris from your cup - honestly, the difference I saw between this and a $30 French press was not worth the exorbitant cost - it's main problem is that, if you buy the black coated stainless steel carafe, that black coating WILL begin to flake off. This will begin happening during normal use and washing and this will leave a mess wherever you take the carafe and make the thing ugly as sin.
To add insult to injury, if you attempt to contact Espro via Amazon - they have no contact information on their website - you won't receive any response whatsoever.
If you can get your hands on this thing around that $30 price point, then it's a fantastic value. But for what they charge, it's a miserable shame.
