Edward J. Uecker: For my daughter when she helps with trimming our many trees. Lightweight, comfy and good protection from branches, big pine cones, etc. Wouldn't want to be wearing it if someone dropped a safe on me, but hey, it was $10 and will create good safety awareness. Make a great Christmas/Birthday gift for the kid aged 5 and u who likes to help.

eagletwo: My friend and I wanted to volunteer at a local construction project in our area but one of the requirements to do so was that everyone have a hard hat on-site. She's treated me to lunch and things so I thought I'd surprise her by offering to buy her a hard hat. Of course she wanted the cool, fluorescent pink one! (It's really more of a bubblegum pink than a hot pink, as shown in the image here at Amazon.) The hats arrived a little later than hoped--we had to borrow hard hats for the first few days of the project--but they are very nice hard hats, even if we now both realize we prefer the ratchet suspension option instead of the slide lock. My friend was so excited when she got her pink hard hat that she wore hers when she drove home that day; she said a lot of people stared, but she didn't care! She's been getting compliments on the hat on-site since (mine is ordinary blue so nothing noteworthy, I would have liked a purple color option) and I think we would both recommend this brand of hard hat.

Kindle Customer Abby: This is very comfortable to wear and can be used for other areas of work besides construction. I got mine to wear while weedeating as we have a lot of rocks. I wish I'd had it when we built my daughter a house since it would have saved me the two times I got knocked in the head. (Evidently my head is pretty hard anyway though since I only saw stars but didn't get completely knocked out.) My husband guffawed when this came in the mail and said he had 2 white hardhats and would have given me one if I'd asked. I told him if I couldn't work outside dressed stylishly, then he could do the weedeating. Even he was impressed with the OSHA sticker inside it...and actually told me I wasn't supposed to remove the sticker....like OSHA was going to be coming around checking out my headgear when I was weedeating!

There's slots if you want to add a strap but since you can tighten it up easily enough, you really don't need a strap. Very durable plastic and lovely color. Very fashionable...
