aaac service: Bump Cap Insert does its job. I put it in my dad's bucket hat, and it fit well. It looks like it will help if he falls. One problem is, he is bald, and the plastic feels funny. He was not going to wear a big helmet to protect him when he falls. This seems good enough. He used to have bumps on his head but not any lately. He has no fallen to test it out for that at least. It seems like a better than nothing situation. He wouldn't wear anything else. It fit a baseball cap too. Nothing is as good as a large, padded helmet but he won't wear one. Aaac Service heating and air recommends this insert.

Joe E: Fits great. Easy to adjust. Could be cooler in the summer, but will be great in the FALL/WINTER. Have worn it on hot days and it’s still not bad. Protects really well, and already saved my head from a gash at least once.

Can’t scratch my head without taking it off. That seems strange when you have an itch, but that’s the idea. Isn’t it?

I seem to be wearing it more than the more expensive model, but I really like both. They do protect well. And the hats keep their shape. 7 They seem to stay on better too with less adjusting. Easy to install, and simple to trim/cut for smaller caps.

Adam: The light weight and reasonably comfortable. Conforms to my head so I almost forget I have it on. Ability to stick it under my favorite tree trimming hat (in my case a wide brim leather hat or big straw hat) provides protection from falling branches while the brim keeps minor litter out of my face and neck. A hardhat for chain sawing has a face screen but does not keep sawdust off my neck. Also, it is not obvious I am wearing a hard hat.
I am surprised it does not feel hotter on a warm day. A Dew rag also helps with comfort. This is good for low impact protection - avoiding cuts and bruises from very small branches or bumping your head on a low sill or forest branch. A big hit will still rattle your brain. A dew rag is also a nice addition to your outfit.
After a year, I'm ordering a second one to trim to fit in another hat.
