M. Thomas: It's a semi-oval of foam. It has a zipped cover on, which can be removed and washed.
Bit expensive for what it is really, but very much a good thing to have if you want to rest your feet on some foam.

Alicia Lampman: This is helping enormously with the leg pain I was feeling at my desk. The height is great and it is very comfortable. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it doesn't stay in place very well. There are grippers on the bottom but they don't work on my hardwood floors. I am able to put my weight on it to keep it in place but would be better if it didn't easily slide

amazon customer: Absolutely perfect product for me. I am petite at 5 ft tall, and have back problems which are exacerbated by chairs that are too tall for me.
I ordered the tall Ergofoam foot rest at 5.5” and it is the perfect height for my needs. I love the fact this small family company produces their products in different sizes to accommodate a variety of body sizes.
To determine which height foot rest would be appropriate, I stacked books under my feet and measured the height, and the point at which height felt the most comfortable.
The foot rest is a high density foam, and offers great support. It doesn’t sink when you rest your feet on it.
I have hardwood floors, so the bumpy bottom side doesn’t slide around and has decent grip on the floor. The fabric on top is a soft velvet, and is very soft. It has a zipper so you can remove the cover to wash it.
I don’t write many reviews, but I love this product and want to support the family business that manufactures a good quality product.
Also, one other point: for people with chemical sensitivities (of which I am one) , this footrest has NO odor at all when I opened the package. No discernible chemical smell, I was...

DarleenMB: This is a really nice product. The problem stems from my desk, not the footrest. The keyboard tray is too low so I can't rest my feet very comfortably. The solution is I'm off to look for a desk stand and tray so I can remove the attached tray and thus use the footrest the way it was intended.
I tried it both way, curve up and flat side up. Very nice both ways. The curved side is covered with a velour type fabric and since I sit at my desk barefoot it's perfect! The flat side has tiny nubby things on it. Good for a light foot massage.
All in all this was well worth the money and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Oh and btw, it has cured me of a very bad habit. Resting my feet under my chair or, worse yet, tucking a foot around one of the base arms.
