C. Wisner: These things are what they look like. A little rag that you dampen and wrap around your neck. I think they do help for awhile. There are precious few ways to keep cool when you are working out in the sun. These help a little and are real simple to use.

Joan De Arc: I brought this headband in the lime colour years ago. Its so good that I'm considering a 2nd purchase. Just wish they had a variety of colours instead of the blue and lime that I see here. Im a biker and a runner and use it solely for indoor biking. I have a ton of head bands I can use but, this is the one I constantly reach for as it doesn't break my delicate hair when I put it on or pull it off. I don't bother to wet it, I just put it on dry and it instantly soaks up the sweat throughout the workout. I don't get sweat or eye make up in my eyes thanks to this.

Amazon Kunde: Also ich hatte es mir grösser,breiter vorgestellt. Sieht aus wie ein Haarband .Das ging gleich zurück, weil es aus meiner Sicht Blödsinn ist.Da kann ich mir auch ein Kühlumschlag mit dem Geschirrtuch machen oder sonst irgendwas. Ich finde Quatsch.

Carlos Terán: Antes que nada, la calidad del producto es excelente. La versión que adquirí es de color reflejante y brilla bajo el sol. Funciona tal como lo dice el video de instrucciones. Se requiere sumergir la porción que tiene el material de color azul en AGUA CON HIELO (el agua de la llave o sólamente fria no funcionan). NO SE DEBE DE PONER EN EL REFRIGERADOR. Luego de los 3 minutos en el agua con hielo se exprime y se debe de agitar en el aire como una honda por un par de minutos. La sensacion térmica se activa conforme el aire circula alrededor de la tela, es decir en exteriores o con un abanico. Funciona perfectamente y la sensación refrescante dura aproximadamente 3 horas. Es muy agradable, como tener un hielo en el cuello, pero sin estar mojado. Cuando se desee incrementar la sensación solo hay que mover la cabeza haca atrás, para que frote la piel del cuello, lo cual se puede repetir todas las ocasiones que se desee. No funciona bien en lugares con mucha humedad ambiental como el centro y sur de México, sino en lugares con calor seco, como es mi caso. Anne Haight: I work outside washing cars, and I overheat pretty quickly because of the medication I take. Even with a hat on, my forehead breaks out in a heat rash that takes all weekend to go away. This headband has stopped my heat rash completely. It may not always actually feel cold, but it's still doing its job. In very dry climates it will dry out in a couple of hours and needs to be re-wetted with just a handful of water. But think about it: that's how evaporative cooling works. If the headband never dried out, it's not keeping you cool!

The inside liner will feel slick when it's wet, but that's just the texture of the material, it is NOT slimy and nothing comes off of the fabric. It's about 1/8 of an inch thick so if you wear a hat over it, you might have to wear a size larger hat depending on how tight a fit your hat is.

I can work outside now and not get a heat rash, and my face doesn't feel hot and flushed all the time. If there's a bit of a breeze, you'll feel the headband get colder. I can't live without this headband now!

KB: SUMMARY:
Chill-Its 6700CT felt like a stiff wet towel and did not impress. I would pass unless you don't have the time or circumstances to prep a Chill-Its 6700 instead.

Chill-Its 6700 provides stellar cooling but feels slimy to the fingertip, albeit not to your neck. Another reviewer suggested hydrating less for less slime but presumably less cooling too. Highly recommended, especially if you are going to be in such hot, sweaty circumstances that you are going to want to shower afterwards anyway. More comfortable than the standard tubular neck wrap too.

Huachnet provides moderate cooling and is useful when you are just a little hot or if you have access to water so that you can rewet it. It is colder when wet; cool, clean and dry to the touch after 1 hour of hanging in my laundry room. It contains a good amount of polymer crystals.

I already have 3 cooling neck wraps filled with crystals, bought many years ago. 2 of them are in a beautiful pattern and have a wooden bead that I can slide up and down to quickly tighten/loosen the wrap; I would have loved to buy more of these but I don't know where I bought them and cannot...
