The Epson Perfection V600 Colour Flatbed Scanner is one of the best Flatbed Scanners available. It is easy to use, and its overall satisfaction rating is outstanding. Customers are also pleased with its customer support and sturdiness. Get the best in scanning technology with the Epson Perfection V600.Joseph J. Mcdonnell: This scanner is not better than my 10 year old 4490 Photo scanner. More interruptions and slow scans. The software it comes with is not an improvement from the older software. I tried to scan at the highest resolution and it froze. The only major difference between these 2 scanners is the light source. It is not much of an upgrade.

SeaBat_B: A Fantastic scanner, very easy to use I only wish it had more settings. Still I give it a 5 out of five because it does such a good job.

Dan: Finally I get to transfer slides from the past 50 years. This will also do 110 slides, not just 35mm. But it's gonna take you a long while if you have many as I do. I haven't tried the corrective software yet but the transfer from slide to digital is quite easy. Lost a "star" due to its slow scanning but other than that I'm liking the product.

RB: Since my recently mother died I have been trying to bring sense out of chaos of family documents going back at least 130 years. This is very good and easy to use for slides, photos and postcards. However, it is only okay for documents. I have to put a piece of black cardstock cardboard behind all the back sides of photos with writing on them and do the same for the back side of all postcards if I want to copy them. It would be nice if the panel on the lid had a black side so this was unnecessary,

computerguru: Bought this assuming it scanned photos, but found out it only scanned 35mm and 120mm transparencies, nothing bigger. Have bigger pictures that it does scan and found a way to scan bigger slides, so it’s ok. Just disappointed.

Micah B.: I used this for digitizing my user manuals which it does perfectly
Then I also use this for archiving my decades of drawings
For this, I used the max DPI for 8.5x11inch paper. Which it caps out at 2400dpi even when it advertises much more. Apparently, that is only for the film when the image size is tiny that it might let you use those settings. Now the other issue is that thin shading and lines were bleached out, but when I set JUST the brightness to "-50" it made all of that come through clear as day and looking premium. (side note: it will reset this setting every time it closes (meaning I had to rescan a ton when I would forget to set that) but if you name that preset it will save all of your settings). So with those things, I discovered in mind, while it took a while (roughly 15min per page) I love how they came out.
Two more issues to contend with:
1. The Window's photos app crashes trying to open these images which I want to do to crop out the white space and rotate the landscape images.
2. EVERY TIME you click scan a pop-up comes up warning you that the scan will take time at the high DPI setting. Which you cannot click an option to tell it to stop...

Mike: I purchased this scanner to digitize thousands of 35mm slides. Within a day I had picked the settings that worked the best for the slides and the resulting digital images, and I've now scanned in over 200 slides.
It's fast enough, 11 minutes at 6400dpi with Digital ICE on for every image, for every 4 slides. Saving the files is very easy, and loading the slides is very easy. The only troublespot is removing the slides from the scanner without touching the glass. I wound up using a spunger tool from an iphone repair kit, basically just a plastic stick with a thin lip on it for prying, it can hook onto the slide edge nicely and lift it up without me touching the glass.
Image quality out of this is fantastic and the color correction and tonality is VERY good for out of the box. I'm not finding the need to touch up any in Photoshop afterwards, but the scanning options allow you to save a very large editable file for just that reason if you wish.
Quiet and stylish looking, and heck it even scans normal papers nicely ;) Very happy with this!

"spydir_""spydir_": Overall this is really great, it does exactly what I need for an affordable price. Thank you. I scanned a photo at 1200dpi, 48-bit colour and TIFF file format without any enhancements turned on, and it was incredible how much detail the scanner could see at that setting (and it has settings for greater detail). I discovered the flat grey colour on my camera calibration card was actually a pattern of printed lines. Of course the file size was like ~0.8gb, but very useful for special pieces.
One question to the internet and Epson: I have a mark on the inside of the glass on the product I received. It's not on the outside surface where I can touch it with a microfibre cleaning cloth. I hope that Epson Quality Assurance staff intentionally let this unit out of the factory, and I have nothing to worry about. I did do some tests to confirm the defect is outside of the camera area. And the defect doesn't seem to move if I gently lift and tilt the unit side to side. The unit probably got jostled a lot more than that in shipping. But it would be very sad if it's a piece of plastic held by static, and it somehow moved into the camera area one day after the return or warranty expired....
