D. Kay: Had replaced the Panasonic batteries in my phones recently only to have them fail. Went back to Eneloop and everything is fine now. I have a set in my AM/FM radio that I have been recharging for almost 10 years. They are very good batteries!

- very good batteries
- Made in Japan
- can be recharged 1500 times vs 1000 times.
- They don't get hot when fully charged. My Tenergy NiMH can get very warm when full or almost fully charged.
- Long shelf life.
- Product came on time. No damage, no delays. Media Mart delivered on time.

Cons:
- Didn't come with battery storage holder.
- Wished that these cells were 1000mAh.

Overall, since I had no problems with the company (media mart), I would recommend to others. These cells are good; I chose them over the 1000 times charge cells. These are made in Japan, better quality then the Tenergy, which are made in China. With the Tenergy, I have to watch so that they don't become too hot.

Tom M (Kensington, MD): I've been using AA Eneloop batteries for my off-camera flash units for some time now. And, they have dramatically improved the performance of the units. I also use AAA Eneloop batteries in some triggers for bigger strobe units and love the longevity of these batteries.

But, recently, I really found an application that tested these batteries in a whole new way... in walkie talkies. When our extended family vacations together, we find that walkie talkies are a great help in coordinating everyone. But, they are hard on batteries. The original NICADS were always far too quickly drained. We decided to try AAA Eneloops and could not be happier.

K. Burke: I switched to Eneloops a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier. The batteries' up-front cost is a bit higher but you more than get what you pay for: you are getting dependable, low self-discharge batteries that if used correctly will give you many, many years of service.

As far as amperage goes these are not the most powerful batteries out there, but I have never encountered a problem. I use them in everything from high powered tactical lights to my kid's toys, and they have never failed to work in whatever gadget I put them into. Perhaps there are applications that they are unsuitable for but I have yet to encounter one.

I have been steadily replacing all of our AA and AAA batts with these over the last couple of years as funds allow, and have had to buy very few non-rechargeables since. Adding adapters for C and D cell batteries gives us additional options. Also, I have added some solar charging capability to the mix, which allows us to keep operating during power outages and the like. I don't personally care much about the whole "green" angle - I do it to save money and maintain capability during power outages - but if that is your thing...
